thx for doing these scans...
to make sure i get one of those HDs for 49.99, should i go there before it opens? does anyone have experience with this type of stuff? any idea when compusa opens on sunday? thx.

great post fiend

Hmmm... just paid $50 for a Santa Cruz the other day... $30 extra gets me Z540 speakers...might have to go get them.

Looks like the compusa's in my area (HI) open at 10 am on Sunday. So you can still get pretty worked on Saturday night and make it for the opening madness.

Whats the deal with a Santa Cruz vs say a Audigy or??

Before I purchased the Nforce I had a Voyetra Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. I must say that was be best add in sound card I ever owned. I had a Creative Live 5.1 Platinum before that but the drivers were always crappy. If you frequent hardware sites that cater to gamers you will see many people, plus technical reviews that have shown Creative driver issues for the Live and Audigy series. Some combinations my not bring this out, while other combinations (motherboard, chipset, other hardware, os) do bring these issues out...Crackling in the speakers is a known issue. So I would highly recommend the Santa Cruz. The versajack is a nice convenient feature. If you check out reviews on the card there is nothing but very strong praise. Hope this helps someone....

Wow, this add looks pretty good...ATI AIW radeon 8500 for 200 after 50 instant and 50 mir. new egg has it for 204 plus shipping. The Iriver slimx is here for 150 as well. This cd/mp3 player is incredible. Now I just have to figure out which one i cant live with out...........

That deal looks killer. I wonder how much better the 540's are than my ATP3's. I had the 560's and they were too loud. 😀

Went by my local B&M today and they had PLENTY of the Belkin Routers, the Maxtor relabels, and the Santa Cruz's - only four sets of the Z-540's though. I'll be getting in on all 4 on Sunday.

Who handle's the warranty on the rebadges Maxtors 60gig 7200rpm?

i was in the manhattan compusa on 37TH and 5TH today and they had a pallet of the 60GB drives with no price on them. i guess they are for the sale. unfortunately they still didn't have the tdk burners in.

i have a santa cruz now...i bought it over a year ago. seems like turtle beach is due for a new model, no?

I am looking for new hard drive, but I can get the fastest ATA 80 gig hard drive there is for $112 no rebates, that maxtor is $110 then wait 4 months for rebate. that santa cruz and a logitech z540 looks like something to jump on.

i also got santa cruz for $50 about week ago..
hmm....should i return them which they will charge me 15% open box fee for this deal....

did anybody notice the neverwinter nights ad on page 14? it got cut off the scan a little bit. but am i right in assuming that they're gonna have it for 44.99? that look like a $10 instant on there right?
--compusa's ad

hola..they may pm for you in someway ...but if you return it say it is defective and you want to tget a new one and then try t oget the speakers for total of $80..they may do it...

A compusa thread without one or more people saying Crapusa , wow these must be some good deals.

Im jumping on the z540 santacruz deal.

Would the above mentioned combo be better than either of the 2 setups I have now???

Setup 1. Asus P4S533 Onboard 5.1 Sound (CMi-8738) and Altec Lansing ADA-880 speakers

Setup 2. Game Surround Fortissimo 2 Card and Labtec Pulse 424 Speakers.

My main concern is gaming and cpu usage followed by mp3's.

For $80 it seems nice but if the speakers and card arent better than what I have now, then screw it. My other option would be to use the TBSC in place of the onboard sound in in system 1 and use the speakers in place of the speakers in system 2. Any feedback?

hey all...I just came home with my santa cruz/z540 speakers bundle and it's Saturday! I decided to go see if they actually have the two items in stock today in hopes of getting up early tomorrow morning to get in on the deal. I asked the manager though and he honored next weeks ad today!

So to clear up any confusion, you can get the santa cruz/z540 speakers for 79.98 out the door! hope this helps anyone that can't wait til tomorrow 🙂

get the SC / speaker bundle today.. ask manager to honor tomorrow price..

sucker say NO...

I need to go back sometime this week to do the price adjustment..

I guess NO one want my Santa Cruz.. ? off to ebay..
