It is. BFV and BF1942 allowed you to play LAN games with any disc, thus 2 could play with BF1942 and 3 with BFV, but BF2 requires 1 copy of the game per person even in LAN games.

Technically? No. You can install the same copy on as many computers as you want. Only one of them can be on an internet server at a time though. You and 63 buds want to play BF2 on a LAN with the same key? That'll work just fine.

Legally? Well, I'm not a lawyer, but I'm sure EA wouldn't appreciate it ;)
