The 'keeping alive' thingy is just something that happens on the DC-forum from time to time.

Especially when somebody says: "Never mind this thread, don't respond" or something similar
It's an open invitation to some of us to say explicitely do not respond.
Think of it as a funny side-effect of the forum.
