Long story short this is an agenda where they want a 1 world government, and 1 world currency and new world order. It's been talked about briefly before and brought up. It was originally called Agenda 21 but it kind of got "upgraded" to agenda 2030. There's many resources if you just google the name so I'll leave that as an exercise to the reader as everyone tends to critic specific sources so I didn't want to just pick one and post it. If you google it, lot of stuff comes up. Essentially the jist of it is they want a 1 world government and total control of the people and how everything works. The most scary part is they also want everyone to live in big cities. No more small cities with room to breathe, or nice rural areas, they don't even want local farms. Just a big concrete jungle, basically a jail or concentration camp where you're allowed to move within but can't really own land or anything. It's essentially going to be communism, but at first it will be pushed as socialism and sound good. Universal basic income etc. Now socialism is normally a good thing to some degree such as free health care, and other services that are not realistic for individuals to afford, but not to the degree they want. It's basically going to be communism at that point. The more you rely on the government the more you are a slave of it.

With the pandemic going on I've really been pondering more about this, could this be it? Will they start pushing this agenda harder? The economy is in the shitter so it's a perfect time for the UN to basically take over everything. Leaders like Trudeau might even just give in, as he is in bed with the UN already which is one of his biggest flaws.

Wonder what everyone's thoughts are on this whole agenda? It's probably better to fight it before it starts than to just wait, but is there even anything that can be done to fight it? Or is this perhaps just a big conspiracy theory and not actually being planned?

I usually avoid this section and was originally going to post this in off topic as I'm really not looking at starting a bash fest but rather a grown up discussion, but it's probably more fitting here as it's quite political in nature.

Thread locked at OP's request. However, the OP has been restored so that everyone can better understand the other posters' . . . reactions.

As someone who has several friends who work for the UN and as someone who has worked extensively with the UN in the past the idea that it could take over the world is fucking hilarious. They can’t even enforce compliance with fishery agreements in Africa, much less conquer the planet.

If you want to have an adult discussion on this you're going to have to post original source material, that is material straight from the folks proposing this agenda. No neck beards, no youtube nonsense, but actual UN documents.

Support your shit or GTFO. You are just rehashing the same shit conservatives have been whining about for 30 years.

Congrats you have been played by people who peddle this shit to make a buck. The right wing conspiracy industry is real. I submit the “opinion” portion of Fox News and Alex Jones as evidence.

Some form of Global Governance is necessary. The World is too small to be separated any more. That said, no, it would not have "Total Control", any more than a Federal Government has "Total Control". It would simply have jurisdiction over those issues that extend beyond National Borders and/or pertain to issues where National Interests compete and/or interact with other National Interests. There is nothing insidious about it, except to Conspiracy Nuts.

The problem with that is when it comes to these type of discussions it does not matter what source you use, someone will always complain about that particular source instead of the actual content, so here are several:

This one is straight from the UN: https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/post2015/transformingourworld

But for unbiased articles it's best to look at several non UN sources too as they tend to explain in more details what the points truly entail.

This one does go over some of it: https://www.thenewamerican.com/tech...-un-agenda-2030-a-recipe-for-global-socialism

If this happens, I don't think the UN will forcibly take over, but rather trick the people to give in thinking it's for their own good. Socialism sounds good on the surface and always been for it myself at least for things like health are and infrastructure, but the more I read about it, the more I realize if it's taken too far it starts to look more like communism. Watched and read lot of content that has kind of opened my eyes on it. It's Christian in nature but it made good points even from a non Christian standpoint.

I'm just honestly curious on opinions and whether or not it really is something we should worry about or not. There seems to be two sides to the coin some saying it's bad and basically a new world order and some saying it's not as bad as it sounds and probably won't happen at full scale. I don't want to believe that it will happen though, but it does sound quite frightening if it does and it just seems like if it's going to happen, now would be a good time. Never let a good disaster go to waste. 9/11 was an opportunity for the US government to pass all sorts of crazy authoritarian laws like mass surveillance bills for example, and most people just accept it and move on and forget about it.

First off, we'd have to elect a Democratic President to take away everyone's guns, like Clinton and Obama did.

The only mention of sovereignty in the UN statement is: "We reaffirm that every State has, and shall freely exercise, full permanent sovereignty over all its wealth, natural resources and economic activity."

What is frightening about the actual statement by the UN?

BTW, I'm not going to bother addressing your second link other than to point out that the site is the mouthpiece of the John Birch Society.

As I figured this went nowhere. Ignore/delete.

This is why I normally don't venture in here it's just a bash fest.

Allow me to provide the reputable links for Red Squirrels post

Read these 2 links carefully and then look back to this thread and the OP original post

Is 2020 or is the 1930's?

Explain why you are spreading neo-nazi fascist propaganda on a tech site.
Explain why you thought this conversation was going to go any other way.

I hate to break it to you but you need to reassess you life and think about what you are becoming.
What ever culture or cycle you are caught up in, you need to get out.
Seriously.

It's everyone else's fault/why we can't have nice things.

Let me apologize on behalf of Planet Earth (a leisure service of the United Nations).

Why is it always the biggest bitches on the planet that complain about everyone else not being open to sourced information who then complain when they are provided sources that directly contradict their opinions?

They might as well start every conversation with, “I know I’m stupid so just hear me out and don’t try to change my mind because I’m that dumb”.

It's P&N, why would you expect anything reasonable?
Red posted a link to the UN statement, which I appreciated. I was hoping that Red would explain why he thought the UN statement was bad and I still do. While I don't give a fig what the John Birch Society has to say about anything, I did want to hear what Red thought about the UN's unfiltered statement.

Get out of here with your being reasonable and interested.
