Saying it's because of the names would not fly, so I'm sure the DYFS came up with some (likely bogus) excuse to need to take them away. If their names were more politically correct or 'normal', there would probably not have been an issue.

None of us know the stuff going on behind the scenes though, I hope they do the right thing for the kids.

To be fair if they had not made the decision to use the news media to trumpet how they felt unfairly treated because a store refused to make them a Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler birthday cake they would probably still have their kids. They focused the attention on themselves by going public.

well, i'm sure it will come out (the reason). i'm going to be very surprised if it is due to their names only.

i really wouldnt suprise me a bit. Foster Care services have a history of abuse.

DYFS has released this statement:
A New Jersey Department of Youth and Family Services spokeswoman says that the agency would not remove children from a home because of their names.

DYFS made the statement today after The Express-Times reported Tuesday that the state had taken Adolf Hitler Campbell, 3, and his younger sisters, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie, from their parent's Holland Township, Hunterdon County home.

"Just to be clear, removal of a child from a family is only done when there's an imminent danger to a child and that wouldn't include the child's name alone," spokeswoman Kate Bernyk said. "We wouldn't remove a child based on their name."

to be fair i really didnt expect them to ever say yeah we took them because of the names and no i don't believe DYFS much at all.

but i would like to know there reasons and we will have to wait until its all done to know for sure.

LOL. I love how Godwin's Law was exercised in the OP, and all discussion thereafter has been completely reactionary and useless.

godwins law is invalid when the discussion involves nazi's or hitler.

If they are doing there job properly then you will never know the reason why the children were taken. The parents are free to say whatever they want but, DYFS can't release any information about the case. As far as making up a bogus reason, I can't believe they have that little to do, but just sit around and make up bogus reasons to so they can take a kid because of his name. Then they still have to present the case in court, so the judge would have to accept the bogus reason too.

They interviewed the next door neighbor on the news last night. I don't recall his exact words, but he basically was like, it's about time. He said that the couple fought often, and the cops had been to the house quite a few times.

I think naming someone "Aryan Nation" is so stupid it completely bypasses outrage and goes straight to hilarity.

Sorry, but if you name your child Adolf Hitler, you have this coming.

The family court judge explicitly told her to not talk about the case, and yet she does. Not a smart move.

Mother of children named after Nazis: We didn't abuse Adolf Hitler and his siblings

A New Jersey mom who gave her three children Nazi-friendly names says she lost custody of the kids because a neighbor wrongly accused her and her husband of abuse.

Child welfare officials seized the children on Jan. 9 after the neighbor phoned in the claim, Deborah Campbell told the The Express Times paper in nearby Easton, Pa.

"My husband and I would never abuse our children," she told the paper for Wednesday's edition. "I just want my children back."

Officials at the State Department of Youth and Family Services won't say why they removed Adolf Hitler, 3; JoyceLynn Aryan Nation, 1; and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, an infant, from the house.

The mom was told by a family court judge not to talk about the case, but she says she's violating that order in hopes of gaining public support.

"I'm begging people to stand behind us and for an attorney to come forward," she said.

Deborah Campbell says her husband, Heath, was hospitalized because of stress from the dispute. He was released Monday.

A postponed court hearing hasn't been rescheduled because the family is seeking a lawyer.

The bizarre names came to public attention after a local store refused to fill their order for a birthday cake with the message, "Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler."

The parents insist they're not racists and want only to honor the heritage of the Third Reich.

"They're just names, you know," Heath Campbell has said.
