so was Scott the problem?? Can Franks REALLY be this good?

or did kidd just slack off in order to get Scott fired?

it's gonna be interesting to watch the rest of the season.

edit

nets are on a serious streak. ok, so the competition isn't the best, but a 10 win streak is still a 10 win streak and all 10 games in double figures.

I don't watch the Nets much but I'm glad I picked up Jefferson for my fantasy league team. He's been having a helluva season.

It was probably more of a case of every one not being on the same page because of the Scott/Kidd feud. Since one-half of that feud is now gone and Kidd has been given a coach the he apparently can work with, everyone is on the same page again.

rod thorn made a HUGE mistake, he should have FIRED byron scott at the END of last season and hired on Jordon (instead of letting him go to Washington) INSTEAD of getting Mourning.

It's pretty clear that Scott was a problem. I can't imagine it was only J Kidd who "wasn't playing for him", though he is shooting like 15%+ better since Scott left comapred to the last several games before the departure (how do you figure that?). The amazing thing is that they won four in a row on the road!

The Lawrence Frank era is looking mighty bright at the moment. Lawrence Frank: the only head coach ever to win his first five games NBA games by 10+ points (and now his first six after tonight's easy win).

i find it amazing the same coach who led them 2 national title games in 2 years, was dropped like a fly for bad form just for a few games, what is to say he couldnt have been going thru a bad patch, besides a coach is as only good as the players, if they all play badly for a certian period of time he cant do much

lookat phil jackson, without his top stars, he looks ordinary

since the middle of last season Kidd has been trying to get Eddie Jordan in as head coach at NJ.

but thorn couldn't fire a head coach that had just taken them to 2 Championship series.

a bad streak was all it took.

lots of the reports were saying the players weren't behind the Scott and weren't playing very hard. their team isn't drastically different from the last 2 years and shouldn't be sucking this hard. the reports on espn (at the time of the firing), said that the players were finally happy to have Scott leave and ready to play big and more refreshed for their new coach. It was Scott's last year on his contract. everyone knew he was not gonna get a new contract. LAME DUCK PERIOD.

Here's a scarier thought - The head coach for the Atlanta Hawks, Terry Stotts, now has the longest tenure of any coach in the East.....and the Hawks are probably in the top 2 of worst franchises in the league!

every coach to make it to the eastern conference championship for the last 3 years is no longer with the team he made it there with.

how very very strange.
