NJ Nets, 14 wins in a row, 13 of 14 by double digits.

WOW.

come on, don't just say, oh it's only the east, it's still and impressive accomplishment. obviously not as impressive as it would have been had they done it against the west, but still. 14 in a row is still very very good.

btw, two of their next three games are against western teams, Twolves and Lakers.

we'll see if they are really for real.

Yes.

And I think the whole Lawrence thing is awesome. a guy who never even played college basketball and merely served as an assistant of some kind at IU with Bobby Knight has just led his team to 13 straight wins, his first 13 games as head coach.

yup, this is a great story.

The only thing I have to say about the Nets is...

Keep them in Jersey. We don't need the Belt Pkwy any more crowded. :|

4 of those 14 have been against teams with winning records. 14 in a row is impressive by any standard, but wait till they play a tougher stretch with a higher quality of opponents and see how they respond.

i'm all for keeping the Nets in NJ. shoot, just change the name to Brooklyn Nets, put the money into more infrastructure between Brooklyn and the Continental Center. it would probably even cost less than trying to build something in Brooklyn.

most teams that have long winning streaks have some scheduling advantages.

but what's really impressive about this streak is that they are PUTTING teams away, only one of the 14 wins wasn't a double digit win.

here's the question: will lawrence frank get a contract there? what if they don't make it to the Finals? what's it going to take for him to get a long term contract?

I agree and I'm not trying to rip on the Nets, but I still think that we need to see them vs some of the better teams to see what resolve they have.

At this point if he doesn't at least take them to the Conf. Finals then anything is fair game. Anything less than the Finals will be a disappointment for that team since they've been there for the last 2 years.

not only have the reached the finals the last two seasons, they have to be considered one of the best teams in the east right now.

Oh, to respond to this thread's original post...

Yup, Nets are playing impressive basketball. Hopefully they beat Indiana and the Pistons, it won't be easy. It would be great fun to see a Kings v. Nets, Lakers v. Nets or Twolves v. Nets NBA Finals.

I'd say the nets have a better than 50 50 chance right now to win the east.

i still think the nets match up better with the kings / wolves or dallas than they do against the lakers or the spurs.
