Glossy???? Ewwww.

Glossy is the way to go with 27" 1440. Antiglare is bad enough on 1050/1080/1200 screens, a 1440 27" has a much higher pixel density than 24" 1200 display, so the antiglare will be even worse. I've got Microcenter Auria version, and it's fantastic. I have a lamp behind me, and I see no glare at all, and my text is crystal clear, no fuzziness. best monitor I've ever owned.

I might get one of these. They are very appealing.

From what I gather, it's the FCC holding back monitor development for 85hz-120hz monitors at higher rez? All this time I assumed it was investment by companies, but from what Nixeus said in this thread makes me wonder..

Is anandtech going to review this monitor? I know i saw a sneak peak a while back..

Glossy???? Ewwww.

I have an i-INC 28" 1920x1200p with AG coating - and in my opinion the colors with the glossy panel looks way better on the Nixeus Vue...

... the input lag would be frustrating to me.

I have put in several hours of BF3 since I got this monitor and with V-SYNC off, it was the same as my old i-INC, didn't notice input lag at all and doesn't affect my gaming... other ATOT members whom played with me over the weekend can vouch for first person shooting skills...:p

Is anandtech going to review this monitor? I know i saw a sneak peak a while back..

The anandtech article states that they will be doing a review...

Where is the link to buy?

On AMAZON:

On Comp-u-plus:

I think they are sold out until Sept 14th. I purchased mines a few days after I saw the Anandtech article and got it this past Friday...

I just got a Yamakasi Catleap 2703 for $295 free xpress shipping (got it in 3 days)

This one has the glass in front....Dual DVI only out.

It's glossy but I didn't notice it in games...running at 60HZ.

So far my Radeon 6870 handles Mass Effect 3 with no slowdown at 1440.

Haven't found any bad pixels yet...without seriously looking..not noticeable ones.

Nixeus looks like it has a better stand and more inputs...that's it.

From the feedback on Ebay the crapshoot for the Catleaps seems a better idea.

Overclock.Net forum has good info on who to buy from etc.

The FCC and the FTC deals with federal regulations and has nothng to do with development. You are correct in terms of development and investment. We have to make sure it actually works and performing at those higher refresh rates at 2560x1440p resolutions using IPS panels.

Curious how much more a "normal" bezel a la Dell Ultrasharp series would cost. I guess the vast majority of people looking at these models are value-driven so dollars matter, but I would pay a premium to have it not look so value-brand, as long as its final price ended up somewhere between your current model and the U2711. Maybe it's just me, but I really like the hard-edged design of the older generation Dells (not so much the new LED ones with rounded corners). And say no to glossy :)

There are "Crossover" brand 27" QHD monitors from Korea for around $350 shipped that include a great looking bezel/stand and metal construction.

Very interesting. I've got a microcenter up the street, so I'll definitely give the auria a look. Thanks for the feedback.

Regarding pixel policy, if the monitor has more than 3 bright pixels, more than 3 stuck pixels, or more than 5 dark pixels that may occur during the 1 year warranty - we will issue warranty service or RMA service.

The A Grade was designated specifically to the LG IPS Panel batch used to manufacture the NX-VUE27. However, there are a majority of A+ panels in the batch, but we have to specify that they are A grade and adhere to ISO standards for Class 1 LCD panels even if the NX-VUE27 may have Class 0 LG IPS panels installed.

Preimum brands such as Apple and Dell have purchased most of the available A+ Grade designated panel batches, which makes it difficult to obtain. However, A+ Graded LG Panels batches would require us to charge a 30% or more premium for the NX-VUE27.

Overclocking the NX-VUE27 will void the warranty.
Thanks for clarifying about the grades.:). I have one more question since there aren't any reviews, but I'll understand if you don't want to answer it. However, if you don't mind answering it then... does it use PWM brightness control?

I actually may buy one if there isn't bad backlight flicker and if the maximum input lag compares to the Hazro WIe. I like your company's decision to make it glossy, because typical AG coatings look terrible.

Has anyone actually purchased one of these??

I have... been busy playing BF3 on it to take advantage of Double XP... but here are my first impressions:

The monitor box:
img20120823131928.jpg

NOTE: The box is HEAVY - heavy enough that the box's plastic handles broke while I was carrying the monitor to my car. Good thing I'm short so the drop was minimal. So be sure to carry it by holding the sides or carrying from the bottom.
Opening the box and taking out the contents, I found out the stand and stand base made up the bulk of the box's weight.

The directions for installing the stand was not informative enough, but at least the screws are labeled so you know where they go.
I'm using a display port 1.2 cable to connect the monitor to my Gigabyte Windforce GTX 670...
Running some tests - I did not find any dead or defective pixels and there was no back light bleeding... at least I couldn't find any:.

Adjusting the height was fairly easy, but tilting it was kind of hard (at least it feels solid). I found out to swivel left or right that you had to hold on to the monitor shaft and twist left or right.

img20120823221422.jpg

Rotating it clockwise into portrait mode was fairly easy:

Playing Battlefield 3 in 2560x1440p I didn't notice any input lag and it did not affect my reaction time or gaming scores (K/D Ratio) - anyone that has played with me knows that I don't camp and I don't nade/noob tube spam! I always play FPS games with V-Sync OFF. As you can see, I play BF3 ALOT! (Feel free to add me on Battlelog):

I'm happy that I waited for the Nixeus Vue. It is definately worth upgrading from my i-INC 27" 1920x1200 Monitor...I would get another one but I would need to upgrade my desk first!

No dead pixels, no backlight bleed, and the stand seems pretty solid - kind of hard to tilt... Colors are great out of the box. I didn't do anything for brightness, temperature, or contrast. My Gigabyte Windforce GTX 670 is feeding it through displayport 1.2 connection.

NOTE: See how small my PC desk is? Now everyone knows why I crash jets alot in BF3...:p

Thanks Destiny, you answered all my questions about this monitor, the height adjustment is one of the features that interested me.

I have never bought from Compuplus.com, and since the next shipment will be in mid-October, how were they to deal with??

The lag is there and measurable if you wish to try it. Most people simply ignore it.

There is a small section of gamers who go out of their way to measure and determine which monitors offer the lowest amount of lag (1 frame or less) for competitive play. If you knew anything about playing competitive fighting games you would know that we measure timing in terms of frames, if you are slow by one frame you miss the combo and that can be the difference between a win and a loss.

How do you know it has high input lag?

Where did I say high? Quote me and prove that...otherwise go away.

It has more input lag than the korean models with only DVI. That is a 100% fact and guarantee. WHen you add more inputs you also add a little bit of input lag to the monitor. This is well documented if you want to do a search. For some gamers this actually makes a difference that is indisputable.

It's all about your usage. I've mentioned competitive fighters where you measure frames to time moves and combos. If you miss that single frame then you are done. It's why playing Street Fighter IV with vsync is impossible for people who are competitive.

They are just as good as NewEgg to deal with in my opinion. I only had to return/exchange something once with them and it was painless. Sometimes I order stuff from Compuplus to avoid paying tax :awe:

From what I know they have been around for decades and they were one of the first if not THE first Apple Computers authorized Re-sellers (Yes I am that old).

WOW... it was supposed to be Sept 14th for the next shipment - unless they sold out of that too! o_O

I'm so glad I got it after I saw the Anandtech news post...

I know its there, but in terms of competitive first person shooting for this monitor - I don't notice the input lag with V-SYNC off and I don't think it affects me. Plus, more than enough people have been accusing me of hacking on a few servers since I got this monitor.... with V-SYNC ON there is lag though.

And yes, I'm well aware of combo frames = I used to compete in Super Street Fighter 4, I use Chun-Li alot.

I think Anandtech should be doing a review soon, so we'll know exactly how much input lag the Nixeus Vue has... the thing I'm wondering is if the input lag is different for each video input.

I would test it myself, I used to have 8 CRT PC monitors, but I donated them all away a few months ago...

Am I the only one appreciative that Peter Nixues himself came here to answer questions?

I know I am in need of shopping for a new monitor for Christmas.

Well, I ordered my Nixeus Vue 27" today and hope to have delivery by Oct. 9th. The price went up from $429.99 to $449.99 which includes shipping.

They seemed to have sold out of two lots already, but the only posting from somebody who has one is Destiny.

How big are the lots, 20 to 20 pieces??
