question for any owner of this device. Is it possible to copy from a USB drive to the hard drive? I inserted a usb drive in but in the short amount of time I couldnt locate were/how to do that. I ended up just playing it from the usb drive but actually want it saved on the nixeus.

Your Link seems to not be working? I can't access it... which Xtreamer model are you talking about? If you can give me the model number maybe I can compare and contrast?

From my understanding from what other people are saying the Xtreamer are not delivering on their marketed features and is not stable...

The Nixeus FHD is very stable and works great - they also have been adding new features at customers request and with each firmware update and fixing issues almost immediately - they also have great customer support (can vouch for them myself) and are based in the USA...
Features that set Nixeus apart from others:

-Blu-Ray ISO support (No Menus, but they are working on Blu-Ray Braunching)
-DVD ISO Support with Full Menus
-Plays everything I can throw at it including the new MKV header compression files that many other media players have issues with.
-Built in web browser for web surfing (flash video coming soon)
-Direct Access to YouTube
-Direct portals to Internet Video Sites Via Fusion Channel (non-flash videos)
-Very easy GUI
-2 Year Warranty
-Every feature they marketed = WORKS
-Adding new features with new firmware updates - while other companies have you buy new players with the new features (i.e. WDTV)

Are you also waiting for the Netgear 550?

I thought the Netgear 550 is already available for purchase? People are already talking about returning it if a new firmware doesn't come out soon to fix major issues on AVSforums...:\

Which Firmware are you using? There is a new firmware out... once you install the new firmware do a hard re-boot by unplugging the power cord from the back of the device for a few minutes... then start it up and you can copy from USB drive to the internal HDD (if you installed one) by pushing the copy button on the remote when you highlighted the file you are trying to copy...

Thanks, I did the update prior, but didn't do the power cord trick. Is there an actual button that says copy on the remote.

No, not in the US, overseas it just came out but the discussion is regarding the US firmware(s) being different (ahead).

Hoping they're not apples and oranges, what do you get for the $50 more than the LG HD 570 deal for $118?

It is comparing apples to oranges...

The LG BD 570 is more of a Blu-Ray player and only uses DLNA to stream local content from a PC or network storage and is not able to play back quite a few different media files out there... It is designed to use to netcast for selected internet streaming services such as NetFlix and Vudu and not local network streaming...

The Nixeus Fusion HD is more of a home network media streamer able to play 99% of different media files available. It uses both DLNA and SAMBA/Network shares to stream media files from PC to this device to play on your TV. It also has internal hard drive support up to 2 TBs and acts as a local media hub able to stream to other media players in the house, other PCs, or other devices... It has its own portal for YouTube, Flicker, Picassa, and Facebook and various internet Channels (but can't play Flash Video through its web browser yet). People who buy this type of device have no use for the Blu-Ray Player feature or paying for subscription services...

I've been looking for a decent media player, and this one looked to fit the bill, but alas no connections other than HDMI :(

You could probably get an HDMI to DVI adapter, but that is probably not what you wanted. I suspect you wanted component out.

Yea, I (or I'd even settle for S-Video). Unfortunately the only ones that seem to have those aren't that great that I can tell. Guess I may be forced into upgrading the TV sooner than later..

Thanks. Not quite sure why they have no use for those, but it helped.

From what I hear most owners are happy with the Seagate and it functions better than the WDTVs - but I do know it uses a RealTek processor which is a lower quality chipset than Sigma Designs and Intel... there is a reason for the price difference... at the end of the day what matters most are firmware updates, stability, and support from the brand...

I've been looking for a decent media player, and this one looked to fit the bill, but alas no connections other than HDMI :(

It has composite via 3.5mm jack...
