It's nitrous, not nitro.
And don't waste your time.
If not a nitrous system, what could I do to bump HP a little?

Make sure you've got good strong welds on your intake manifold, or you'll blow the whole thing to smithereens. Then you'll have to rip the whole block apart and replace the piston rings you fried.

I changed the title of the thread a bit, I've kind of given up on the nitrous idea. I'd like to do some kind of upgrade though. I'm thinking about dropping it a few inches, I've seen sets of springs for about $200 that would drop it 1.75".
Any other ideas?

So has anyone here ever installed or worked with a nitro system on any car? on a mustang? I'm talking a small system here, just something to play around with. I've never had the thing above 90MPH and don't intend to (on the road anyway), I just want to have a little fun every once in a while.
I'd like to know what is involved and what kind of factors need to be considered. I know it sounds stupid to put one on a non-V8 car but I can't afford to switch to a GT - I'm still a college student.
I'm sure heat and pressure are the 2 biggest factors but do I have to rebuild and upgrade my whole engine to handle it?
One kit I'm looking at: smallest one I could find
I might install it myself or have it done by a local high performance car upgrade shop up the street - they're way more than competent. I've seen some of the stuff they work on. I have done a reasonable amount of work on engines myself, my dad and I have replaced 2 water pumps, done a seal and valve job, etc.

Other recommendations for upgrades that will actually improve performance or looks significantly?

Just cut the springs with bolt cutters. Much cheaper and it actually handles better than with aftermarket springs. You don't even have to be acurate when you cut, just chop 2" off or so.

Do you happen to have a link to a quide for that? I've heard of it being done before but I'd like to see a step by step thing before attempting it.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, I was JOKING! DO NOT DO THIS TO YOUR SPRINGS. IT IS BORDERLINE SUICIDAL.
Please, just save up for a car that is fast stock.
