Nissan puts huge amount of pressure on its U.S. competitors

Competition is good for everyone, I just think ALL car manufacturers lately are a little out of touch with what the average joe can afford. I mean 6 or 7 Franklins a month is NUTS for a freaking vehicle. It's just transportation for heaven sake! My first HOUSE PAYMENT was about half that much. Not to mention the fact that it is a depreciable asset.

Charge what the market will bear...

Does Nissan have any interiors as nice as this? That's right. Never have, never will.

Infiniti Q45.

Also, that wooden center console (where the gearshift lever is) looks to be from an import interior (either Lexus or Infiiti)

Are you joking? The XLR has leather in places where that thing just has cheap vinyl. Real aluminum, where that thing has plastic. And the central console on that thing is so insanely busy and retarded looking it's not even funny.

The Infiniti FX (as well as the Murano and the new Maxima) all use real aluminum in the interior. Btw, have you sat in an FX?? Best SEATS EVER!

Nissan is definately one of the hottest car companies out, no denying that. If I bought a foreign car, it would be a Nissan because IMHO... they have style.

People bashing GM interiors: Dunno about now, but my 96 S-10 has a wonderful interior. Graceful and durable. (Black and gray... dunno about the other colors) Blew away every other truck I checked out before I bought it. Still no cracks or tears or anything on the interior.

Yeah, if you like Lego interiors, I guess it's OK. Go look at a Tundra or Tacoma (hell, the Frontier even), then come back and tell me that the '96 S-10 has a "wonderful" interior.

Well back in '96 there were no Tundras or Frontiers.

Are most of Nissan's new look on their cars inspired by Renault?
Those French know how to make cars look "unique"

Blech...too bulky looking.

Besides, it's $75k+!!

And it has a Consumer Rating of 4.3
There are 2 reviews of a vehicle that nobody owns yet, with the first review being nothing but a gibberish troll. Did you even bother clicking the link?

Nissans is pretty autonomous as far as their product lines and R&D is concerned. It would be suicide for Renault to interfere, considering it's been Nissan that's kept them afloat the past few years.

I got a G35 this weekend. The interior could be better, but I'd rather it be like it is and keep the price tag the same.

Welcome to the club. Sedan or coupe?

Nissan has finally done what their competitors have not - managed to create appeal across their entire vehicle lineup. The Altima is one of several cars I'm considering purchasing within the next few months. My friend's 99 Altima is kind of blah and boring, but the newer ones just have reek of sexiness. (to me anyway)

I'm in love... Whatchoo got Mani? Do you post on g35driver or freshalloy?

For some people, a car is more than just a form of transportation. Everyone has their interests...

That said, I like the interior on the 350Z more than the G35. Here of my Z's interior; a bad picture though. The interior is very comfortable, the aluminium is real, and I've received nothing but compliments on it. The only thing I don't like about it is some of the chintzy (sp?) parts they used in some cases.

Seems to me that (thankfully) Renault has only been involved in the higher-level running of the company and not the product development/design.

The problem I have with this entire thread is that everything you all are trying to make "fact" is a subjective opinion. I'm quite happy with the design and layout of the interior on my 2002 Dodge Stratus. I considered the Altima, but ultimately, preferred the Stratus over the Altima. Of course, that was based on my personal opinion and the chance I took on it. At the time, both were new vehicles, so I had no long term research to draw from and both rated about equally from the early adopters of both models on Carpoint. So, all this "My dad's better than yours" BS I'm seeing in this thread is ultimately opinion passed off as fact.

Niiiice! I have the exact same car - colors, options and all. And yes, I post on G35driver pretty frequently under this name and lurk on FA. Congrats man, I'm sure you're as thrilled as I am with it.

I love my Nissan Xterra.

A few of the guys in my Xterra club were asked to help out with a demo day for the Titan. That truck is going to rule.
