Oh and Nissan should put the 4.5 in at it's stock HP and price it around the low 30's to compete with some American offerings.

I'm not sure that would be worthwhile, their V8 currently makes like 340, the current V6 300. Is 40 HP enough to offset the additional weight and cost? It's only a little more than 10% increase in power.

More torque overall, lots more torque down low. Completely different driving experience even though the hp/weight may not numerically change a whole lot.

What this means to you: More power means higher price and more profit for the car companies, but it's not exactly going to please the environmental lobby.

F*** 'em! 😀

Maybe the V8 would have much better torque at lower rpm than the V6 has - this means much more horsepower when you drive it in "economode". You wouldn't need to downshift as much.
The added weight is stll a concern - this will change weight distribution, might request for stronger suspension and on and on.

Not sure how much heavier the VK45DE is compared to the VQ35DE.

I know the VK does have some weight savings in the valvetrain to allow higher rpms, for example the valvesprings and valves are made out of titanium.

The difference can't be more than 100lbs or so I'd imagine, which would call for only a minor retooling of the suspension, nothing substantial I'd be willing to bet

will it be faster than the 300zx? the 350z isn't. at least, it wasn't when clarkson dragged them. i think the 350 wasn't any faster than the euro-spec 260 (which was way faster than the one we got)

they need to bring back the silvia bring em here to states.

Something around the $18000-23,000 price range what light, RWD, and is forced fed

anyone that rips on the Z is crazy. BY FAR the best sports car you can get for 30K. especially when you account for looks, power, and handling. try a test drive sometime. its badass.

fyi, the GTO may have a lot of horses, but come on, its fvcking ugly. stupid ass pontiac, make a car that looks good.

Yep, its a real porker, but that's what Americans buy. I doubt Nissan will go with AWD b/c then it would be an absolute sports car hippo with much of that weight up front.

no, it's a real porker because the platform has to support the 350z, both G35s, and the FX. if it wasn't overbuilt the platform wouldn't be as versatile and the car wouldn't cost so little
