I don't think the GTR is what its all hyped up to be, IMO.
The Ford GT is such a more beautiful looking car than the GTR.
The GTR basically looks like a new 350z![]()

This is kind of a dumb test IMO - the course is tiny and includes two hairpins. It is not representative of any kind of real-world driving or even a real road course. It's also amazing to me that they can make two cars this exciting into such a boring film - there's a reason Top Gear is so special compared to innumerable boring American car shows.

how often will you be racing someone at stoplights or around canyon roads? oh wait.. both of those are illegal.

The GT-R has delivered on all counts. It's exactly what its hyped up to be and more. The GT-R has lost before in an MT or CnD comparison, I can't remember which one but it was pitted against some expensive machinery and was beat in the course they set up.

umm they are at very different price points.
I think you don't know much about cars outside of paper.
The GTR will push performance to the next level.

although, like the NSX of the early 90's, the GTR has performance that matches some supercars, and that is a pretty amazing accomplishment.
the ford GT is one of the best-looking modern-day cars though.

Wow, sorry to bash your GTR Fanboy Gayness
GTR IS A PIECE OF SHIT AND SO IS YOUR FACE.
With the dealer markups these things are ganna have, the Ford GT might be a $30,000 difference, maybe less.
I was just comparing the best from a company like Nissan, to the best from a company like ford.
PLUS, the GTR Nurburgring laptime was pure BS, running start, non-production spec tires,
Nissan didn't want to play fair and cheat their way to the top.
Besides, Nissan has too much riding on the GTR's reputation to be BSing people...imagine the public outcry from owners if it was found that Nissan had cheated.

Yea, like that's ever stopped companies from using shady marketing tactics. Didn't Nissan claim a stock R34 made it around the ring in under 8 minutes a few years back, yet no one outside of Nissan ever got close to that time? I mean seriously, Nissan could claim practically any time they wanted, and how is anyone really ever going to disprove it? How many people who would be buying this car would have the interest or the money to rent out the ring for themselves so they could have a clear track to practice and try and duplicate Nissan's run?

The 911 Turbo starts at over $125 grand, that's a supercar. The regular 911 is a sports car.
Srfrbum, you need to read the rules of this forum before you post. Saying or even thinking negatively about the GT-R is a bannable offense on this board, and will not be tolerated. Believe it or not, the GT-R took on Godzilla and handed him a beat a down of epic proportions thus acquiring his name. But that was just a warm up, then the GT-R challenged God to a race around the Nurburgring and whooped his ass too, thus becoming the greatest thing ever. At least that's what I've been led to believe reading the posts on this forum.

well., i cant copy paste links from my iPhone right now, but I did check and Best Motoring recorded a 'Ring time of 8:01 for a factory stock R33 GT-R, so 8 min for an R34 is not impossible.
