after much soul searching, I've decided that Dave Grohl was probably the most talented member of Nirvana.

It's hard to say, Krist Novaselic's bass lines were essential. And I'll be damned if anyone could sing those songs better than Cobain (and the covers he did on unplugged). But Grohl's post-Nirvana career is definately impressive.

HAH!... just kidding. They don't have a "best." Some bands have albums that I listen to all the way through, but a few specific songs I'll have a craving for every once in awhile. With the exception of Bleach, there isn't a single song on any of their albums I don't have a craving for every once in awhile. Every song is that good. We can bicker about which is best, but the fact is, they're one of the best bands ever, and they made really good albums. Period.

If you mean grunge, check out Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, (early) Pearl Jam, Mad Season, and (early) Stone Temply Pilots.. these bands+Nirvana comprise about 1/3 of the music I listen to frequently

Don't forget Temple of the Dog. Chris Cornell's (of Soundgarden) solo album is also excellent. In the end, though AIC > *

AIC is the best I agree.. especially Jar of Flies. And if you haven't checked out Mad Season, that band is amazing as well. River of Deceit could be my favorite Layne Staley song

I <3 Mad Season. There really should have been a second album. I know why they formed that little side project, but still... keep it going.

I never saw the appeal of Nirvana. :thumbsup: for killing hair bands and all but they pretty much were boring. At the time going from hardcore punk to Nirvana for me was like switching from a quad-shot latte with a Red Bull chaser to Caffeine Free Diet Coke.
