if you keep having trouble maybe you can post a video of one of your attempts so we can see what spots you get caught in

Here's a video of when I got very close to beating her. Got stuck some how at the end and any button I pressed wouldn't work, not even the one for the antidote to paralyses.

I think you can hear me trying to press the button or something. At one point I had her health down further than what you see at the end of the clip but again I kept getting stuck when going for two spear hits.

you're doing really well there man. maybe a stronger weapon is needed?

two things; first, I guess you're using strong attacks? the build up for that poke attack is pretty long so you might wanna switch to regular attacks and you'll get off two hits easily. you might to get to three if with my second tip, you need to start attacking quicker once you make her miss. you can see from the video that you're doing a good job of avoiding her attacks but you have some room to be a little closer and the ability to start hitting her quicker after her last swing/kick.

Looks like you need to farm for elixirs. Can't you carry 8 or 9 at a time? I would never go into the Hino-Enma fight with anything other than max elixirs. Also you can upgrade your max elixir count to I think 11 through onmyo magic skills.

Yup I was using strong attack only. I redid the whole level and couldn't find a better spear. I think sometimes I just get very lucky so one of these days I guess I'll finish it.

Sometimes I feel like I get stuck randomly and there's little time to even heal or use magic stuff since if you back up too far she will immediately front dive into you.

Yea I can carry 8 but I used a lot of them from the store house. Many times I don't even have time to heal so I think I could get her with just five. Next time I try I will equip the elixir kodama blessing and farm more.

Haha no not yet. Yesterday she had this much health left ---

I was so mad because I was out of health potions. I also haven't been playing that much so it's taking me longer than it should.

Ouch, two weeks in on a boss? I promise the game gets a lot easier, especially when you build your character up some. Don't ignore onmyo magic though, because if you do there is another mid-game peak in difficulty that can be a real b---h to overcome (not as bad as Hino-Enma that early in the game though). It made me want to quit midway through the game. Especially the sloth talismans, do everything you can to upgrade your ability to carry as many as possible. Some people think it's cheating to use them, but some enemies will use sloth on you too later in the game.

Finally beat her right now. What helped was stocking up on elixirs and then using my magic fish or whatever that spirit animal is. I just baited her and got in two medium hits with the spear until her health degraded enough where I decided to use the spirit animal.

At that point her health was almost gone and initiating the spirit animal knocked her down so I got a few good hits in. She got up and sucked life away from me.

That pissed me off but I had enough exilirs to regain health. At this point I got lucky she only did the spin attack once and I was able to finish her off.

Now I'm not sure which mission to go to next. There are exclamation marks on the last mission I did where the game started as well as a side mission in the cave too and another mission next to the caves too.

Also, is there a way I can see what's in my inventory on the main map screen? If I go to store house I only see what's stored. Going to the blacksmith shows me my items but I want to compare, sell and equip stuff I picked up along the way. I have a ton of gear I need to get rid of.

Oh man what a fight, 2 weeks but this wasn't me playing every day. Glad that was done.

Congrats on beating her. There is a secondary mission in that same area where you'll have to fight her again, but it's not needed for progression like the first mission with her is. I don't remember what mission is next after killing her. I wouldn't do the duel with that samurai right away though (it's an optional mission anyways), as he is extremely difficult early on. Make sure to do the dojo tutorials too, advancing through them allows you to unlock some higher level skills.

If you want to check your items at the main map screen I think you do it pressing the same button as you do in missions. I don't remember if it's the option button or not since I haven't played the game in a while, but whatever the button is for the main game, it's the same in the map screen.

congrats! and like Steve said, it's the same button that you use in game. took me a while to figure that you could open that menu from the map lol

I'm debating weather to do the side mission in the caves or move on to the next mission. I'll have to decide after I sell all the unwanted weapons. I normally don't do the side missions unless I want to level up. The first side mission I did took 15 minutes so as long as they are not long I don't mind. I believe I'm leveled up enough for the next mission.

I also realized that pressing the touch pad brings up menu so I can equip everything I want and sell all the rest.

there's also a way to select multiple items when you are scrolling through so you can sell in mass while keeping what you want

I'd just continue with the main missions as long as you feel strong enough to keep going. There's really not much to gain from side missions unless you are running them for items or amrita

I wouldn't sell the purple or the next level down (I can't remember if that was blue or yellow). I'd disassemble those for materials to use for crafting weapons and armor. You can never have too much when it comes to exotic materials since in the best case you have around a 38% chance of crafting exotic every time you craft something (exotic, eg purple, has the most powerup slots).

Sorry for jumping in the middle of conversation and seems my question isn't relevant to the current discussion. Still I'd like to ask: Currently I'm finishing Bloodborne and I'm looking for something similar. I've played Dark SOuls 3 on PC so I don't think I will grab it again for my PS4. Nioh on the other hand quite catches my eyes. Its combat looks pretty interesting so far. And so how do you guys rate the game compared to Dark SOuls 3 or Bloodborne? Should I grab this one after Bloodborne?

If you liked Bloodborne you will like Nioh. Nioh is a bit more fast paced when it comes to fight. Plus you have a lot of abilities to use, skills to learn that improve your character, and there are a lot more weapons to use.

The gameplay style is similar to dark souls and Bloodborne, it may be a little harder depending how familiar you are with these games. I think I prefer it's faster action pace to Bloodborne but I think it's very similar. But it's nothing like ninja gaiden if that's what you were thinking.

I don't think it's anywhere near as good as Bloodborne, which I consider a perfect game. Nor as good as Dark Souls 1 (I haven't played Dark Souls 3). I'd probably rate Nioh an 8.5/10, where my rankings would be

5 - Medicore
6 - Fun in parts
7 - Good
8 - Great
9 - Must play
10 - Perfect.

So I did really enjoy the game. For reference sake I'd rank Bloodborne 10/10, Dark Souls 1 9.5/10, and Demon's Souls 8/10 in this genre.

Funny story, there is a promotion where I was able to get Gamestop to give me $40 for my copy of Nioh. I bought it from newegg for $36, so I essentially got paid $4 of Gamestop store credit to play and beat this game. I normally wouldn't sell a game I liked as much as Nioh, but when I can get them to pay me more than I paid for it I'll take it, and then I'll buy the game again on Thanksgiving when it's $10 to $20 somewhere so I'll have it for replay.

EDIT: I know this is way off topic, but I gotta talk about this hilarious Gamestop deal. They're running a promotion where if you trade in six or more games they offer you 60% more than usual in trade credit. Since the PS Store Midyear Sale has two games I have on disc for way less than Gamestop offers, I traded in those two games along with Nioh and then three other games I wanted to keep. So I did

1. Sold Nioh for $40 trade credit
2. Sold Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection, God of War III Remastered, The Last of Us Remastered, and Bloodborne for $20 trade credit each. So now I'm at $140 in trade credit.
3. Then I bought back my copies of Bloodborne and The Last of Us Remastered for $20.55 each after tax, losing $1.10 total. So now I'm at $98.90 in trade credit.
4. Since Gamestop has a buy two get one free of equal or lesser value deal going on for used games, I got back Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection free for buying back my two games.
5. So then I paid $1.10 in cash plus my $98.90 in store credit to buy $100 worth of Playstation Store cards.
6. So then I bought Ratchet & Clank off the PS Store for $10 and God of War III off the PS Store for $6.

So I basically traded Nioh and $1.10 cash in for $84 of PS Store credit, at the expense of converting my copies of Ratchet & Clank and God of War III from physical to digital copies.

I normally hear people described it like: hybrid between Souls-Borne, Onimusha (It can relate to the spirit guardian stuff), and Ninja Gaiden. Haven't played Ninja Gaiden so I don't about that Ninja part, but there are some relations to Souls-Borne and Onimusha.

In that case Nioh is still worthy to try.
About Gamestop, I rarely buy physical copy so don't know about that stuff. But based on your story then literally you can buy games without costing anything right? XD.
