LOL. Is that the same sketch where Haratio Sanz comes in the store with his "authentic Mickey Mouse jacket"?

oh the blindness!

😉

they really need to realize that some of their market is over 40 now.. rofl. the advance was a huge disappointment but I love my sp. I don't figure I'm likely to upgrade til they come out with a large print version. 😛

From rough proportional measurements, the screen is about ~1.75" wide by ~1.2" tall.
The screen is officially 2" diagonal. The previous GBAs have been 2.4"x1.6"(giving them a 3:2 physical aspect ratio), or ~2.88" diagonal. Assuming the aspect ratio is the same(it better be), then for a 2" diagonal, we're talking about a screen roughly 1.67"x1.1", or even smaller than your estimate. The new screen is overall over 50% smaller than the old one.:Q

Getting back on the subject at hand though, I'm largely glad Nintendo decided to come out with this; the GBA is the last great 2D console, and it's going to be a sad day when it's retired. My only complaint is that it's not powerful enough to emulate a Sega Genesis(or really even a SNES), otherwise I would never need to own anything besides my GBA SP ever again.

As for Nintendo's new target audience for this, it does make some sense. It's a small pocket-sized device for quick gaming on the go, a market the PSP and NDS completely ignore, and the GBA SP isn't quite suited for(though the game library largely is). I think Nintendo will find moderate success here.

Bear in the mind the target audience is probably small kids
You ever see a kid holding one of the first generations gameboy advances? They look pretty clunky. This gameboy would actually be pretty proportional

they would probably also lose it more easily because it's so small.
