Nintendo patents handheld emulation software

what cha expect, IMO Xbox and PS2 are killing them-

(Still a very loyal Nintendo Fan though 🙂)

If you read the article, it appears that Nintendo has patented the emulation of handheld gaming software. This is to stop people from using an emulator and ROMS to play gameboy games on a pocketPC.

The patent office wouldn't be stupid enough to let them patent handheld gaming devices...

The bitch is right. (I've always wanted to say that legitimately).

When it comes to handheld gaming platforms, Nintendo is pretty much the only vendor with #1 marketshare (well over 70%). That is, at least until the PSP comes out.

But doesn't this patent have challenge just by the Playstation 2 anyway? Does it not play PS1 games via software emulation?
