Nintendo memories

Stuff I remember from my now-old and dust-covered NES collection...
-Trying to get through the fourth and seventh dungeons in the original Super Mario Bros., the ones where you had to follow a certain path or you'd end up going in circles.
-TKOing Mike Tyson in the second round in Punch-Out.
-Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start. 'Nuff said.
-The second quest in the original Zelda game.
-Getting Super Pitfall and finding out just how FRIGGIN' BAD a game with "Pitfall" in the title could be.
-Using up three dollars worth of tokens on the PlayChoice 10 arcade machine just so I could play Super Mario 3 in one long stretch.
-"The truck have started to move"(Metal Gear), that ranks RIGHT UP THERE with "All your base are belong to us" in bad-translation folklore.
-Pro Wrestling. STARMAN~!
-Finally completing Blaster Master, THE LONGEST GAME EVER where you've only got three lives and three continues to work with.
-How FRIGGIN' HARD Ghosts 'N' Goblins was.
-When Ninja Turtles 2 was the greatest game I'd ever seen.
-Crystalis, one of the most underrated NES games ever.
-How cool the Power Glove looked and how much it sucked when I actually tried to play games with it.

<< Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start. 'Nuff said. >>

LOL, those were the days. I wish I still had my NES sometimes. I've been playing Super Mario Allstars on SNES lately, so at least I can revisit Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, & 3.

I loved Nintendo.. even though I don't even remember how I ever ended up beating the games... the memories were so vague... I don't even remember being able to play the games.. I'd just sorta play in the dark I guess... OOooh the good times =)

<< Crystalis, one of the most underrated NES games ever. >>

yup, Crystalis was DA BOMB!!

Double Dragon 2 is also one of my favorites.. i've literally beaten the game a hundred times

What about River City Ransom and the Double Dragon series? DD2 was my favorite. Also loved playing all the Mario games, Duck Hunt and Pro Wrestling. 🙂

i felt like i was the luckiest kid in the world when i got my NES system for my bday that one year!! nothing i've ever bought or received has ever got me that excited since.

Paperboy for the NES was awesome... paperboy on SNES sucked

RAMPAGE! A friend and I played the game for 11 hours straight (i was the ape😀) and beat it...and I remember us being so damn pissed off when we won because suddenly the screen goes black and tiny letters pop up saying nothing but "congratulations"...argh!!! 😉

There's this other game where you drove around jeeps and could pick up weapons and OMFG it was fun...what the hell was it called? it could be 2 player too

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. 'nuff said.

RC Pro-Am - now that was one sweetass racing game!!

Super Mario 3 - best game ever. period.

Most people I know hated super mario 2 but i loved it..not as much as super mario 3, though

I too owned the PowerGlove 😀 Actually i remember buying it for like $10 at a garage sale thinking i got a good deal...DAMN that thing sucked :Q

In total I owned about 30 games, 4 controllers, a gun, and the power glove. why oh why did i give it all away? 🙁

JACKEL?!?!?!?! that game was the sh~!

danny~!

Ahhh Nintendo memories... Witholding carts to suppliers, strong arming third parties, trying to illegally force competition from the market, creating false shortages, being found guilty on charges brought before the US Congress, never ever making a release date... There are so more, but why spoil the fun 😉

I sitll have my NES system. It's so old that sometimes it takes like 15 tries before I can get a cartridge to work properly. I need to go to funcoland or somewhere like that to get all the old classics.

Homer

I had both Nes and Famicom still have em too my memory is more like

Dragon Quest 1 - save the princess kill the green dragon
Final Fantasy 1 - 3rd orb was a bitch to get
Dragon Quest 2 - finally a real party
Super Mario 3 - Why the fvck didn't I take the warp
Ikari Warriors - killing people has never been so fun
Contra - lets kill more sh!t
Final Fantasy 2 - Final Fantasy finally got a storyline
Macross - Fun shooter but still no R-type

Have any of you checked out the NES emulators out there? I have relived memories of the past by playing my favorites like :

Dragon Warrior
Dodgeball
Jackal
Contra
Bomberman

I also had this one cartridge with 99 games on it! And maybe half of them were actually decent, and maybe 10 were AWESOME!

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start.

Yea, I played Contra to death, that game rocks!
