Nintendo increases orders for Wii Motion Plus parts

Link - Aside from the crap-ton of Wiis sold during this holiday, is there another reason why Nintendo might increase the order for gyroscopes for the Wii Motion Plus? Right now, the only games that are known to support the WM+ is Wii Sports Resort and the FPS game, The Conduit.

Could there be another (bigger) game that makes use of the WM+ that we don't know about yet?

My main concern after getting the Wii for my kids for Christmas is that I've come to the realization that the Wii is accessory hell. WM+ does nothing to discourage this.

There was speculation that they might eventually just build the WM+ technology directly into new Wiimotes. Maybe this is a sign that they are going to do that.

At least the WM+ can be attached to the wiimote and held together with the new wiimote condoms so it's not so intrusive an accessory.

My guess is, knowing Nintendo, that new wiimotes are going to have WM+ built in.

Isn't it though? I find it odd there's so many accessories since Nintendo wants to get the casual gamer. They wanted to keep the wii simple, remote like so anyone could play, etc. I'd be confused as hell to see all those accessories. Wiimote, nunchuck, balance board, kart wheel, crossbow zapper, motion plus, classic controller, wii-speak. And that's just 1st party stuff.

Yeah, I got 3 extra Wii-motes and one Nyko Nun-chuk that came with the Nyko Wing Controller. I was wondering if buy the additional Wii-motes from the start was the right thing to do but Christmas day and this past weekend proved me to be correct because we had 3-4 people playing the Wii the whole time.

Now I'm wondering if there is going to be a big enough reason for me to have to get the WM+ or not.

WM+ = Wii Motion Plus. Nintendo's new peripheral coming out in the Spring that attaches to the Wii-mote to give true 1:1 movement recognition. See my Wii Sports Resort link in the OP for an example. Shows Nintendo execs demonstrating this with a sword game from Wii Sports Resort during E3.

I always assumed they were going to build WM+ into new Wiimotes. There wouldn't much point in not doing it. They can still sell the add-on dongles so people don't have to replace their existing Wiimotes, but any new ones you buy would already have it built in.

I never though of it is a question of 'if' as much as a question of 'when'.

This is still going to create a problem for developers because now they are going to have to develop games for players using WM+ and players not using WM+. That's just another layer of complexity and makes me wonder how many are actually going to take advantage of it.
