Damn, you're right. I don't know what I was thinking (although a Link to the Past is cool too). What I meant to say was

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

Hmm, now that I've made a complete fool of myself I think I'll quietly slip away

The worst part about the NES is the darned blowing on the games to make them work. I have to sit there for a good minute trying to get some of my games to work, and then sometimes they freeze on me! ARGH! owell. I'm addicted to DragonWarrior now.

How can you forget Ninja Gaiden and Super Dodge Ball (not the GBA game the original) and Castlevania!
Those games simply rock!

I haven't played most of those games (never had a NES...didn't know what these games were for SNES) but I will say that Chrono Trigger owns you...but Link to the Past is the best game I've ever played. :D

If there was a survey on which generation of systems would you prefer, I would have to go with the past versions. These days, technology is getting so out hand, that games and systems get old by the hour! Sega and NES were the greatest until 1996, but since then, no system has been around for more than a couple of years before dying down. Ofcourse there have been a couple of games that have taken everyones breath away on PS 1 and 2, N64 and X-Box, but no game will ever match up to the original classics that we all played on those old systems.

That was the real golden age of gaming.

:)

maybe you mean Wrath of the Black Manta??

anyways... i think NES was just plain awesome... truly a gamers system... the way i see things as they are now, Nintendo's games have just gotten easier over the years... anyone remember how hard Kid Icarus was?? dayam, took me forever and a day to beat that thing, but when i finally did, oh man... now it's all cartoony kiddie crap with little to no play value and no replay value and no challenge...

in any case, my top picks for NES games:

legend of zelda
super dodge ball (the GBA remake is crap.)
super mario bros. 3
super tecmo bowl
tetris
megaman 2 and 3
double dribble
ice hockey
contra
double dragon
battle toads
metroid
ghosts and goblins
bionic commando
....

holy cow NES had a lot of good games!! in any case, i must agree that Karate Champ ownz as well... aww, making me feel all nostalgic... boy i swear i've spent like years of my life just playing NES games :D

zsouthboy: you are wrong about the first three star wars already being written. lucas planned a 9 movie trilogy at first, but did not write 9 movies. he wrote an outline of what those movies were to cover, not entire movies. 7-9 were not very detailed at all, so they ended up being condensed into return of the jedi. the true ending of 9 was to have the empiror killed by vadar. leia was not even luke's sister originally either, it was someone to be introduced in 7 or 8.

as for 1-3, those were more detailed, but by no means entire written movie scripts. further more, they are quite different now than they were back then. one example is that 1-3 were supposed to focus on obi-wan kenobi, now the focus has been shifted to anakin. if you want to know more you should go theforce.net forums and ask, those guys know everything and will cite actual quotes from rick mccallum, etc.

oh yeah... nintendo rules.
