Ok, me and a friend weren't doing anything one night, and we busted out the old Nintendo. We played a bunch of my old games, but seriously, Super Tecmo Bowl, Blades of Steel, and Bubble Bobble have to be 3 of the best games they made. At least thats what I think.

But seriously, bust out the old Nintendo and see whats up, it was a lot of fun.

I've been that same thing lately with my SNES. Great games and a lot of fun to be had with an 11 year-old system.

Yeah, the SNES will be next, but I'm still on the Nintendo thing now. Screw X-Box, PS2, and GC, I have a Nintendo!

Your ample use of the word 'bust' reminded me of those Corn Nuts commercials:

"Bust a Nut! Bust a Nut! If you're home or if you're alone just Bust a Nut! Just don't get caught at school...."

Does anyone remember how they really go?

*kami, how does your NES stay alive though?

Ah, I miss playing my cousin's DragonBallZ Hyper Dimension game for the SNES.

RBI Baseball is one of the best games, hands down.

And NHL 2002 has got nothing on the original Ice Hockey :)

They are so fun, because older games didn't have great graphics or music to fall back onto, so they had to compensate with original, fun storylines (not really talking about the games you're playing, but look at Zelda and Mario).

Same thing happened with the original Star Wars movies. They ruled because of the story. Just like the new ones suck because of too many darned special effects.

If you missed out on playing Zelda, you missed out on one of the best NES games of all time IMHO :)

man they sure don't make games like they used to!!! I just saw the previews at E3 for the new metroid game on the Gamecube, and I for one despise the fact that it is a first person shooter. I wouldn't mind if they made it a side scrollin 2D game, i think developers need to realize that they need more content and less visual flair.

There are but 3 games that I can bestow with the title "Best of the Best":

1. Metroid
2. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
3. Super Mario Bros. 3

Sudheer Anne...

I know, it sucks that Metroid is going to be a first person shooter, and that Zelda is going to be a cartoon. I really, really wanted at least Metroid to be a side scroller. There were some side-scroller bonus levels in Ecco the Dolphin on the Dreamcast and they were gorgeous. If Nintendo would have taken their time they could have made an awesome side scrolling Metroid. Since there's nothing that can be done about it at this point, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it plays.

yea, so true. Companies need to realize that eye-popping visuals (which they seem to spend much time + money on) does not equal a good game. I find that classic games (even as recent as n64 and early PS) have more redeeming qualities then the newer games coming out now.

Ahh the wonderful days of NES. Bubble Bobble was a great game. Tetris, Marble Madness, Life Force, Wave Racer, the list goes on and on. :)

Uhhh... FYI.. all of the Star Wars Episodes were already written, dude(Lucas had already written all the scripts, but only 4,5 and 6 were made into a movie, and he destroyed the other scripts).... WTH are you talking about too many special effects? That was one of the main reasons when the originals came out in the theater to go and see it....

Yeah.... the NES 0wnz j00! Anyone else have to do that pushdown trick with the cartridges to make them work?

Emulation rocks, btw... been playing through the original Zelda, i never realized there was so much to do....
