NINTENDO DS Dual Screen @ COSTCO $143 n change.

Are they officially released yet? MSRP is only $149.99, guys, this isn't exactly smoking hot! 🙂 Cool little system though, but I'll wait for the $99 version in a year 🙂

I think this will be hot ticket item this christmas. Just like the Tickle me Elmo 3 years ago. It all have to deal with Supply and Demand.
 
Is there a standard game being shiped with these? It appears that this one is coming with some form of Metroid. I would be shocked if there wasn't a new awesome Mario that was shipped with many of them.

Any ideas?
 
metroid ds not out until 5/2005...maybe by then i will consider one of these worth purchasing

the metroid that comes with it is only a demo..at least they are offering up that though...unlike the latest round of GBA SP's that didnt come with nuffin unless the store had a deal :disgust: wish they did a tetris ds for it...

Can anyone confirm this? I read awhile back that this will be compatible with GBA games.... It would be stupid not to, just wanted to make sure.

It'll play GBA games but won't play the older ones.

Huh? Do these things work with WiFi hotspots or something? Like I could use one outside of a suitable Starbucks/McD/Panera Bread to check my e-mail and stuff?
Would make a nice compact laptop equivalent, although not as compact as a Blackberry is.

It will work with hotspots, but not the way you describe. The Pictochat software will let you chat with other DS owners - if you're not at a WiFi hotspot, you can chat wirelessly with anyone up to 100' away. At a hotspot, you can chat with anyone else who is connected to the Internet via their DS.

Do you need an adapter in order to play older GBA games, or is the slot built into the unit?......
 
The tickle me elmo was more like 7 or 8 years ago, LOL 🙂 It was a Loooong time ago. I still lived in Washington when that happened, and I moved out of there in 1997 🙂

I have played Metroid DS and it is not going to be the gaming system you all tout it to be. It sucks that you have to use the pen to look, fire with the shoulder button and move with the pad. It is awkward as hell. DS is just a glorified PDA.
