I don't disagree with that. You are definitely entitled to the money.

Like I said earlier, get a Mr. Big with it. :D

Go back and read what I typed. I certainly did not. Perhaps you should attempt to enhance your reading comprehension skills. :D J/K!

Those are rare in Canada, I'd settle for a Mars bar.

You're right and I commend you for going through so much trouble on principle. I dunno if I would have cared enough to do it, but the people that do put their foot down in a situation like this will always get my respect.

Bitching about it on multiple Internet forums instead of attempting to call again is the wrong way to go about it.

I'll consider enhancing those skills with a $1 hooked on phonics tape from ebay, now if I can just get my money...

Do you not understand the term closed? What will a CSR do over the phone? Guarantee me corporate policy will change? Even then would you take the word of a CSR?

Bolded the key part of my post. The CSR would probably be able to get you a refund of your $.94.

You wanna sell your old Nintendo Powers?

Edit: Looking at your other thread, you want them to "fix" the prices - they can change their prices if they want, even if it coincides with a tax cut. They don't have to change them back.

Not very concerned with the $1, if you have been following Canadian news... There have been some reports of smaller companies pocketing the cash, but this is big. A huge international company decides its time to milk the consumers in canada for a measly $1. I agree they can change their prices whenever they want, but when they change them only after I complained there is something seriously wrong.

No, I haven't been following Canadian news. If you've been following New Jersey news, you'd know we just had a 1% tax hike because our government sucks. :p Anyway, Nintendo is a huge company with enormous revenues, and you're probably talking about a couple of hundred dollars total for them... I'm thinking this wasn't a deliberate attempt to bilk the public.

Revenue Canada (CAN IRS) notified the general public like MONTHS ago about the tax cut (nation wide). And while they probably aren't eating caviar over the couple hundred bux they got off the consumers, their coverup was clearly deliberate. They clearly covered it up after I mentioned this to them, and then they tried to dupe me saying I was wrong.

It doesn't even matter if I get my money back off them, I can always file a claim with my government for overpaid taxes, and have the government hound their ass later. I'm more concerned about an apology to me and everyone that overpaid for their repairs. Also reaping the tax cut for themselves is definately not something I support. Whatever, If I get a Mr. Big and an apology with full disclosure that they were wrong thats good for me.

You do realize that this e-mail could have been seen by at least a dozen people before it ever reached the person that responded to you, right? I would not doubt if it wasn't forwarded internally to at the very least their web developers, accounting, and general tech support.

The person that finally did respond to you could've checked on the issue AFTER somebody else who was forwarded it went and corrected the problem.

They told you to call the number probably because they couldn't do a damn thing about it. Normal customer service would not have the power to issue a refund like this. It would have to go to accounting/bookkeeping before they could do anything. By calling, they would set you up with the correct people.

I did infact realize that, and I had included the invoice # of the repair in the inital email. They didn't check plain and simple, its not my problem they hire people who cannot do their job correctly, hell I bet outsourced CSR's would've paid attention. The ball was in their court and they dropped it.

How did they drop the ball, exactly?

If you feel you that the taxes you were charged are incorrect, we want to help resolve the situation. In this case, it would helpful to speak with you
directly. At your earliest convenience, please contact Nintendo's Consumer
Service Department by calling 1-800-255-3700. Representatives are available to speak to you between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time, seven days a week.

That right there is telling you they can't do squat about it over e-mail. Which means you should do something, but I don't know what...oh, now I know! You should try calling them again.

Why do people think that EVERYTHING can be resolved by e-mail?

On top of that, you realize the other points I said, but you still make inflammatory statements, like saying they are deliberately defrauding their customers.

Nice that you're standing up for fair business practices, bad that you're being such a douche to the people that aren't responding the way you want them to. Whatever the case, good luck.

You're making a fuss over 98 cents, and reading something diabolical into it...strike 1.

They invited you to call them. The phone call is going to cost them MORE than 98 cents. Therefore, not a profitable venture for them, so your conspiracy falls apart...strike 2.

You're asking nintendo of america to understand canadian tax...strike 3. We can't even understand our own tax.

You're out! On grounds of being anal to the point of absurdity.

A similar situation: A while back, I switched from T-mobile postpaid, to prepaid. The switch took 48 hours. A month later, I receive a bill for 2 days of service on the post paid account, which I was unable to use, as I was already being billed by prepaid. Instead of assuming a conspiracy, I assumed it's just a kink in their system, called up, asked for the bill to be erased, and it was. I didnt post all over the internet about they where trying to scam me...why? Cause I didn't want to seem like a douchebag.
