ANOTHER VERSION OF THE TRUTH: THE GIFT

On 5th May, 2008, Nine Inch Nails released "The Slip" for free via their website, as a gift to their fans. Or as Trent Reznor put it: "This one's on me".

On December 13th, 2008, dozens of Nine Inch Nails fans recorded the last show ofthe Lights In The Sky tour at Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas.

On January 7th, 2009, over 400Gb of video from the Victoria, Portland and Sacramento shows from the same tour were unofficially released by the band.

By working together, the Nine Inch Nails fan community have created "Another Version of the Truth" - a 3 disc creative commons release bringing together numerous editors, designers, and web programmers to create a professional digital film, followed by a physical release created by fans for fans.

This is part 1: The Gift
Filmed in Sacramento, Portland, and Victoria by the Nine Inch Nails team, and directed, edited, and produced by their fans, The Gift is a stunning work in 1080 High Definition video with 5.1 Surround Sound, multi-language subtitles, and artistically-driven ethics.

The DVD is out, I've been seeding like a motherfucker. Seed, you bastids! I haven't had time to watch it yet, but all the songs are on the youtube channel I linked. I'll update the thread once the Lights in the Sky DVD comes out.
 
Another Version of the Truth is due within the next couple days, they're encoding the youtube version as we speak. I shall update. :awe:

He did attend the last two shows in a row. We rocked it out harder than anyone at the Wiltern show, along with joesmoke. One of the best nights evar. 😀
 
I'm not a fan of NIN, but I really dig the Ghosts album, and Reznor gets a lot of respect from me for his unique distribution ideas :^)

Definitely. The fact that he released audio and video for the LITS show is unprecedented. The final Blu-Ray will be amazing. Release on Xmas day on torrents, I'm sure the printed copies will follow soon. :awe:
