Nikon V1 dpreview samples

there's a bunch of noise in the scale across the top even at base iso D:

and that's not even at the same magnification. compare at the same and it'll stand out even more.

is ACR responsible for inserting the anti-copy yellow lines on the money?

The base ISO noise is negligible IMO - the GF3 has it as well.

The kicker for me is that it actually looks better the m43 at high ISO, at least in the samples provided.

i'm not sure why the G3's sensor isn't used in the other 4/3 cameras, it's noticeably better than the GF3's. if you look at the greek statue face there's some very fine vertical lines (readily apparent if you look at the 645D with the huge magnification). the G3 is picking them up at 1600, the epl3 is not, and neither is the V1. at base ISO the epl3 picks them up faintly, the V1 still doesn't show them.

look at the small text, the nikon cannot seem to render it well. And it looks blotchy to me the higher up you go in ISO.

However, with that said, it looks a lot more impressive than I expected. The two key things it's missing though are compact lenses and a price drop. I can buy a GF2 zoom kit for $360 today, new, heh (sensor roughly the same as the GF3 for the most part).
