Serial ports suck.

I had the same experience as JBark with my roommate's Nikon Coolpix 950 rebate. Turn around time was only one month, totally awesome and this camera is loaded with features.

I'll probably buy the Nikon Coolpix 990 in about 1.5 years when the next camera is released and they hopefully offer a rebate.

The 800 isn't bad at all, either. Same lens as the 950, as well as much of the internals. I've taken some great shots with this thing. I also nailed this deal on Mercata. And as far as the rebate, I also got mine within a month. My wife has the N6006 (Xmas gift from me). Everything about Nikon makes me a happy customer. Never used the serial port connection, cuz I got a USB-capable 4x 64meg card (another great deal: $74 after rebate), but otherwise I can't say enough nice things about Nikon.
