Did a staples pricematch yesterday on the 995, they didn't charge shipping because it showed 3-5 days for delivery in my area (I ordered it from the computer kiosk & took the printout to the register), took the lame-ass operations manager 1/2 hour to do the PM, but I got it for $453 + tax with their 110% pricematch.

799-484=315x110%=346

799-346=$453+tax

I'd just sold my Olympus D510Z to a friend & was looking for a deal on a 3+megapixel camera, these are sweet cameras but Nikon just came out with a new model & lowered the price.

PM'd to Royal Camera

Wished I'd known about A & M Photo World price of $439 yesterday, would have made it $401 guess I can go back for an adjustment
;)

So, I know they've theoretically changed this, but can I still use a coupon at Staples on the Kiosk, and THEN pricematch it at 110%? If so, that makes this a lot hotter (already great!). Thanks

I just tried to pricematch this same deal - and got denied for both companies.

Staples CSR said that they can't pricematch to either of these companies because both of them only offer a 90 day warranty, and Staples offers a one year.

damn.

Don't ya just love the G2?

This is a good deal, but this camera model has been around for a long time now. It's still considered a very nice camera(goes to show how good it was in its day).

Great deal I had a Nikon Coolpix 900, but sold it when the Kodak DC4800 deals were popping a year ago. This has peaked my interest again in Nikon. Staples also has a coupon for a free 32mb memory disk with any (other than Sony) digital camera over $279 listed on their website. Since this is listed on their website, I'll include the coupon code. 60168. Hope this is OK with mods. This code appears only in some places, it does not popup with all cameras it is supposed to include. Click here ( link ) to see coupon lising. I know nothing about A&M Photo, but the Coolpix 5000 at $619 seems a real steal.

Where are any of those warranties listed? I only see the 1yr @ Staples.

I think the CSR that refused the PM was on crack: From Staples PM Policy:

<< The item must be identical. For example, . it must have the same U.S. manufacturer's warrantyIt must also have the same model number and contain the same components. As another example, for pagers and wireless phones, the service plan, service provider, and other terms must be the same. >>

Don't even try to PM this on the web... I had to send in about 9 different sites to find one they would pricematch. Basically, all the really cheap ones for like $400 or $500 are international warranties, they won't PM from their call center.

I did a PM with Staples call center using A&M and they honored it without question. Throw in the $40 coupon and I get it delivered for $408. If it wasn't for tax, it would have been even cheaper. Great deal on an awesome camera. Looked at Best Buy B&M and they have it for $599. If at first you don't succeed with the Staples PM, try again...someone there is bound to let you have it.

Not bad. I thought I did well with my purchase for $601. Oh well. Still a good camera at any price :)

Hey guys,

I bought this camera too. Turns out this has major problems with indoor auto focusing. It works great with outdoor shooting. I have tried and tried manually focusing and all options but all pictures turn out either blurry or colors are different. Have seen several forums specially steve's forums and dpreview.com where users have encountered several problems with indoor shooting. Let me know if someone comes up with better indoor settings or maybe we need to press Nikon to finally release new firmware (which I believe they are working on at this moment).
