Cameraworld.com has the nikon coolpix 950 for $649.88 + 9.95 shipping here.

Nikon extended the $150 rebate to 3/31/2001, linked.

Resellerratings lists a 5.9 / 7.0 rating for cameraworld.com, linked.

649.88
+ 9.95 ( ups ground )
659.83 ( shipped before rebate )
-150.00 ( nikon rebate )
509.83 ( after rebate )

*****UPDATE*****
Also found this vendor listed off of yahoo shopping. Use at your own risk. Although I can't find anything that says factory serviced or refurbished, but it may be for this price. Anyway, sunsetcamera has the 950 for $519.95.

519.95
+ 24.95 ( a little outrageous shipping )
544.90 ( before rebate )
-150.00 ( nikon rebate )
394.90 ( after rebate )

<< How about XtremeShopper.com at $551.84 shipped or HotBuysElectronics.com at $611.73 shipped ? Neither of them are well known e-tailers but ... >>

Those prices have to be either for refurbs or price after rebate. If you check mysimon, you'll see a number of prices in that range and lower. All are refurbs OR price after rebate.

XTreme Shopper doesn't mention anywhere on their site that the Nikon 950 is a refurb. Does anyone know for sure whether or not this is a new retail package or not? $400 after rebate for this camera is an awesome deal for a great camera.

Not nearly as sweet as the $370.00 net deal last month from Photoalley and passport.

CameraWorld really harassed me. They send me used junk and then tried to charge me a "restocking fee" to return it.

Then they charged thousands of dollars on my credit card, and I had to have my credit card company change my account number and charge it back to them. Be careful!!

I've been buying from Camerworld for 15 years (yup, before they were web-friendly) and I've had a 100% success record. Very courteous and knowledgable staff.

Who else has had good or bad experiences with Cameraworld? Thanks for the input, everyone. I have been drooling after this camera for months! (Wish I would've done the Passport deal like Rosebud. :))

I had been a good customer of CameraWorld for the past five years. This year, everything changed.

All I know is that the President and Sales Manager both quit after I reported what they did to me to the FBI. They called me and told me they were tape recording my conversation, despite my continual protests that they could not do so because it was a violation of my Constitutional rights. The idiot sales manager got it in his head that I was a competitive dealer because I bought a lot of things, many of which were not new as they were supposed to be, like some Hasselblad gear. I sent it all back and then the real hassle started. I called the FBI after they illegally made charges on my card.

As I have said, be careful, and be sure to test anything you get from them immediately to make sure it works, they only take back defective equipment for 14 days, then you have to send it back to the manufacturer on your dime.

That's good enough for me. Thanks, Seattle-- they're out. Even if you were totally exaggerating the other parts of your story (and I don't believe you were), I refuse to do business with stores that have cr@ppy customer service policies like that.

cantstop, last month photoalley had this camera for 749 - 100(instant rebate) = 649 - 129(instant msn passport discount) = 520 -(%5 ebates discount) = 494 - 150(Nikon manufacture rebate) = 344 delivered. AND to make the deal even sweeter, photoalley gave away (already arrived) a $100 off two night stay at any Hyatt.

***Actually some of the #'s above were rounded off so the actual total is 343 something if you want to split hairs.

There you have it.

The rebate does not apply to Sunset. I contacted them and was advised that you get everything except the original box. Without the box, no upc code and no refund. The sales person confirmed that you cannot get a rebate with their deal.
