That would be $80.00 back from MSN Passport. It's $20.00 per hundred at 800.com!!! And do't forget to PM with Blue.

I hope before anyone buys a Nikon products he or she checks out whether the vendor is an authorized USA retailer. Otherwise, you may have some clown in a NYC backroom doing OJT on your camera.

To check if a merchant is authorize, call Nikon at 1-800-645-6687 and hit no buttons on your phone. When someone answers, give the actual name of the web business that is selling the Nikon product(s). For example, Marine-Park Camera & Video is Nikon recognized name for MPSuperstore.

You can also PM mpsuperstore' $289 and get $110 back from amex. that'll make the camera $219 with $50 800 GC.

Just ordered the Nikon 775 + 32MB CF. What is the best place to have AMEX PM with? :)

I thought AMEX would not PM a store's price if the store that you purchased from already has the low price guarantee? (800.com has the low price guarantee).

Anybody had any success PM with AMEX from the stuff they purchased from 800.com?

Hmm. I hadn't heard this before. I would also be very interested in knowing this.

Corrad is correct about AMEX's policy to not PM with a store that already has a low price guarantee. I just spoke with AMEX about this today, and they verified their policy on this. :frown:

I read it from another post. Somebody talked to AMEX and they said that they will not price match if the company you buy it from has a price match policy in place, UNLESS the lower priced vender is not on the original companies' PM list...

And I have heard people buying cameras from 800.com and then using AMEX to PM successfully.

Can someone confirm that 800.com has their own PM policy? Either way, I think you're safe. You order from 800.com, and either PM with them, or if they refuse, then I guess AmEx will, since 800.com didn't?

I'm submitting my PM request with Blue anyway.

Re/ "best price guarantee" at 800.com---they have details of this at the site. It's a very NARROW policy whereby the store will only pricematch with about 10 other MAJOR electronics stores (specified at the site). Therefore you should be able to do an AMEX pricematch with a purchase from 800.com as long as the store you pricematch against is not on 800.com's very short list---and given how many of us tend to pricematch with (ahem) smaller, somewhat less prominent vendors, you'll probably do fine. I myself did an Amex pricematch on a Pioneer receiver I bought last month at 800.com---no problems.
