Just gave the call back for their upsell pitch.
Jeremy asked for the 3 digit code from the back of my credit card. I asked why it wasn't requested on the checkout page. He said it was, but wasn't required. I'm pretty sure it's not there, which gives them an excuse to call you.

In any case, he didn't push the memory cards because I told him I was replacing another camera that uses the same cards, so I had plenty. Tried to sell me an extra battery for $59 😱 - $20 if I ordered it now. I said no thanks, so he offered to knock another $10 off. Said no - I had seen some 3rd party batteries that looked good. So then he lectures me how those knockoofs can leak/damage the camera/destroy civilization as we know it. Said I'll take my chances.

He said it would ship tomorrow.

edit: nevermind, i see that it has USA warranty. would this be a big upgrade from a canon s200? i want something that takes pictures a little clearer. indoor pictures are alright with this cam?

Just got a Shipping Confirmation message with a FedEx tracking number. I only paid for the chaepest ground shipping. Not in the Fedex system yet, so no delivery info.

I place my order thursday morning and got my call thursday afternoon. The rep told me the camera would ship friday. Well, yesterday it still had not shipped so I sent an email asking why. This afternoon I got shipping confirmation... I suggest anyone who ordered over the weekend call and ask why your camera hasn't shipped. It sounds like to me their stock is limited and they are sending them out as they get them.

Yes mine came with the type of serial number required by the rebate

Supposed to get it tomorrow, which is cool because I'm road tripping to Chicago this weekend. I was pissed I woudln't get it in time, but for know it all seems ok.

Spent some time reading the manual (No - you can't have my man card 😛 ) & playing around with it last night. Lot's of cool features! The panorama assist is very neat! I've got a nice panorama of my living room now 😀

With the option set to USB Mass storage, it works fine on my Linux box as well. Just had to change the directory structure that my download script I wrote for my HP320 expects, and add a bit for retrieving subdirectoriesn (panoramic sets come in their own directory). PTP mode is supposed to be supported under linux as well with gphoto and such, but I prefer a simple command line script to grab my pics off the camera.

The only rebate forms I can find say they're good for 1 Feb - 31 Mar, and my invoice shows a purchase date of 31 Jan. If I lose a $100 rebate because of this stupid crap, I'll really be torqued.

I didn't even realize the rebate form I had was from Feb 1st until I read it here. I also have a January invoice and am going to be livid if this causes my rebate to not go through. Let me know what you hear from them in your email Armitage. My problem is already shipped off the rebate with upc and invoice...
