The rebate form has a column asking "Dealer purchased from----------", after seeing that i did called Nikon and they say Officemax is not listed as their dealer for Nikon Collpix 2500. Then the CSR told me that if I buy this digital camera from OM then I am not eligible for rebate. Please share your thoughts and findings.
Thanks
Not certain whom you spoke with, but I contacted Nikon USA (contact information found
here), and spoke with several people there regarding this. The rebate in question is valid for the 2500 purchased
at any store, regardless of their authorized status or not (if you check this thread thoroughly, you will see that Staples itself, the original place of purchase associated with this deal is
not an authorized dealer). However, "E2500(U)" must be listed in the UPC on the box. This means that the camera was manufactured for sale in the United States, and it is this fact (and not the "purchased from an authorized dealer" clause) or lack thereof that will void your rebate eligibility.
I purchased this camera from Staples via telephone order back on the 6th, then called back later and was approved for a pricematch to the $199.99 from Ritz. On the 8th, the date the item was scheduled for delivery, I received a called from Staples customer service stating that my order was temporarily cancelled as they disallowed the pricematch to Ritz (for a similar reason as listed above - different manufacturer's model numbers, one with 8Mb v one with 16Mb). Was stunned to say the least, as I have done in the neighborhood of ~25 pricematches at Staples.

Been looking for one a while and tried the staples thing with no luck not in stock anywhere but checked out OM and they had it so pretty much did the same thing with them.
299.98 Nikon Coolpix 2500 @ OM
PM to Ritz Camera so 115%
Add 30 online coupon for over 150
298 - 99 (PM) - 30 (Coupon) - 15% for PM put me at 154.15 plus some tax in my state
so all in all I cam out at 164.94 but add that 50$ Rebate and it'll be 114.94!

Yes, the next logical course of action was to attempt this at OfficeMax, which I tried on the scale of five times. Each time, I was met with the same answer - OfficeMax does not pricematch on special order items, which the CoolPix 2500 is from their website (you'll see the OfficeMax website lists "Expected Delivery : 3-7 Business Days". this is why) or by phone/catalogue. Am assuming you attempted this B&M? I looked when in the one OfficeMax B&M in my area that week, and as this model has been discontinued it was OOS, as was nearly every other digital camera. Checked Staples B&M as well, which was also OOS. Instead purchased an Olympus D560 (3.2MP, 3x optical/3.4 digital) at Staples B&M, which was $299.99 - $30 off $150 printable B&M coupon - 110% Pricematch to $249.99 (Data Vision on 5th Ave) ~ $215+tax.
I would, however, still purchase this camera if an appropriate
working deal was available. I plan to check an out of town Target I will be near tomorrow, as these had/have been on clearance in most locations. As others have listed above, any help or opinions are always welcome.
