Nike Free 5.0

Crono

Lifer
Heard these sneakers are great for strengthening your feet because it's like your walking barefoot when you wear these. Anyone have experience with these, and where's the cheapest place to buy them online?

If you get them, get the trainers. They're more durable than the running version.

They work well otherwise.

Nike has set the price on the Free 5.0 shoes, and stores can't run specials on them, at this point. It's pretty much going to be $85 no matter where you get them.

For real?

Yes. The runners have a very fine stitching and will tear if you try to do anything but run in them. The trainers can be used as an everyday or multipurpose shoe because they're more durable.

he is

cross trainers always have less padding and such than runnign ones thats why they are cheaper usually

Ive heard many comments on these shoes that if you step on a small pebble, you feel it and it hurts like a mofo. I would rather have something I can slam my foot down with and not get poked by a sharp rock with that might be on the road or through a field.

Do some research before you start bashing people. Read around the forums on these shoes and see how people have been tearing the running version by doing side steps or anything other than running (playing basketball for instance). The trainers are a bit thicker and have stronger stiching, so people (including myself) are recommending those instead.

Yeah it's a gimmick but they do sort of work. I myself have not tried them but several of my teammates have, and they say you can feel the ground really well (so don't step on a rock) and it does make them work harder. Are they really like going barefoot? Not quite. Are they worth $85? Probably not, but if you have a burning desire to spend money, go for it.
