I was originally going to get one of these to workout with until I read the reviews at epinions.com and from people that had it. I decided to pay a little extra and get the intel pocket concert. It has excellent reviews. I ordered it last week and can't wait to get it.

This is an awesome price for the nike if it doesn't fall through. Heck, I may go and get one today for a backup.

I picked up one of these at CC on Black Friday for the same price, and it's been fine for use during workouts. It's small and very lightweight. The headphones aren't the best, but I had a good pair laying around to use. There is no display on the unit itself, just on the remote, but that's been fine for how I'm using it. You can upgrade with smartmedia cards, and I've been using a 64mb card with no problems. Overall, it's not worht $79 or $99, but at $29 I think it's an excellent value.
 
If it can take 64M smartmedit, that's a great deal. newegg $22 64M

only mp3? how about wma? usb? Any review about it?
 
This unit uses MMC memory!! It cost more that Smartmedia and Compact Flash. It is also much smaller!

Somec, can you confirm if it can take smartmedia or not, since nike didn't give too much info about this.
 
FWIW:

Not being into the .MP3 scene, so to speak, the advice I got here at anandtech was to consider, as a more expensive / satisfactory alternative for my kids, was:

for $85 w/S&H after $20 MIR (11/30 - 12/31/01).

CDs, .WAV, .MP3, 650MB+, 45 second anti-skip, ....

I own this player and it doesnt take smartmedia, only multimedia (MMC) cards. THis player is great for jogging and looks nice. It is compatible with .wma file formats and .mp3.

Can't tell seams to be BB rebate, because it is being sent to a rebate processing center in Phoenix, where I sent my last 2 rebate to.

My friends and i raided our local Bestbuy this morning right after they opened (in our hungover stuper). Grabbed the last 3 they had on the shelf.

As for the unit, im very impressed. Sound quality is great and the build seems sturdy. GREAT DEAL AT $30!!!!!
 
if youre worried about the batteries--just get the CC 20pack of maxell AA batteries that are floating around---free after $9.99 MIR
 
can't find it either...must be only B&M...damn it sucks that the closest BB is in New Orleans for me and the only computer store in town is CrapUSA
 
The rebate prints out at the register, and yes this is only B&M... Limit at 5 per store...
 
anoyne know a cheap source for MMC cards amd NImH batteries and chargers? I just picked one up, for $30 you CANNOT go wrong!!
