I discovered After Forever long before I ever heard of Nightwish. Similar genre, hot singer, great music. They syncopate the operatic female vocal with more death metal-ish male vocals, so if you don't like that then maybe it isn't for you. But still, a great great band that I wish would do a tour in the States.
