I read that article a few days ago. If you want to get the goggles, Northrup (sp) will sell them to you for $2500-$4000 but if you want something that costs only a few hundred, you will most likely be getting a hand held scope. I have always wanted to get a night vision scope but I never have yet.
 
And what about the whole issue of those Sony camcorders which allowed the IR mode to stay on in the light therefor allowing you to see through thin clothing? Did this ruin the mechanism of the scope since it was on while being in the daylight?
