What was that iPhone app that guy was using btw?

Man, I have to keep a close eye on this thread. The last shuttle launch thread w/ the live feed was awesome. The NASA girl talking over the radio sounded cute too, hahaha.

Shuttle Managers to Discuss Valve Problem
Tue, 25 Aug 2009 04:09:01 PM PDT

Shuttle managers will hold a standard post-scrub meeting at 7:15p.m. EDT regarding the launch attempt of Discovery that was called off earlier today after a problem developed with a liquid hydrogen fill-and-drain valve in the aft compartment of the shuttle. A news briefing will be held after that meeting concludes and will air on NASA TV.

Regarding the valve, when launch controllers commanded it to close, they did not receive the "closed" indication. There is a concern that the valve is either open or partially open, but that needs to be evaluated for confirmation.
A new launch date and time for Discovery's STS-128 mission has not been set at this time.

looks like they have to drain the tank, fix it, and refill before they can launch... thats probly a 2-3 day operation.

Everything the guy is saying over the comm sounds like something terribly bad has occurred until the announcer explains what it means.

/shakes fist at astronaut sp3k

I saw it from Orlando.

Was going to see it in person but was only a 60% chance of weather being good and it is too long of a drive for such a low chance.

Damn you shuttle!!! You were suppose to scrub! 🙁

Live in S. Daytona, came on a northerly trajectory, awesome as always. Rumbling from liftoff arrives a few minutes later (cape is about 60 mi. away). Used a pair of Jason binoculars, could easily see the separation of SRB's and most of the remaining ascent..
