So I skipped from the first post to here, so I've got no clue what's doing on.

how dreamy.....

;)

His Dell 2.4 P4 has been totally crappy for like a month. BSOD left and right, none of his programs work without going into the program files folder and clicking on the direct links, his DVD drive randomly gets lost and he has to go to add hardware to detect it, his windows xp installation is total crap and he had something happen to his security protection garbage and can't access his own documents etc.

He also doesn't have an internet connection that works so getting diagnostic programs like memtest required a trip to another room and saving it to disk after unzipping it (and he goes to art college so the labs are full of macs) blah blah blah....

On the bright side I think he's going to give up on his system and buy my old one I'm trying to sell :)

haha...I might have "accidentally" formatted his hard drive by that point just to get him to shut up. ;)

Anyways, it's cool that he wants to buy your old system now...It makes upgrading a little less painful. I'm going to finance my R520 this summer that way, by selling my 6800GT to a friend. ;)

Edit: Now if I can just find a similar way to finance a dual-core Athlon 64! :p

Heh... the thing is that he has a burned copy of XP that his older brother gave him instead of the original windows that came with his Dell. I think the disc might be faulty.

We were actually talking about a variety of things, but about 2/3 of the conversation was about his broken computer and if he should just get a new one... and how much that would cost... and how would be pay for it... etc.

omg... I do that kind of stuff all day basically, but it's so annoying over the phone :p

Oh, and if I hear your story about how you're going to sell your 6800gt to your friend for $300 on more time, I think I'm going to punch you in the face

Whoa, I didn't see your post until now.

I also noticed they spelled it neff, but I was afraid to say anything
