Yeah, I have all three, but only the EE of the ROTK. The first two I just have the normal theatrical releases...

I have the 4-disc DVD set of all 3 movies, they're the cornerstones of my 400+ DVD collection. I got the ROTK one for Christmas last year, it was by far the best present I got (and that includes beating HL2 and Spongebob Squarepants The Movie videogame). 🙂 You really NEED to get the other 2 in EE format.

I watched the last two in a row.... omg... long day. My PB10 sure got a workout though.

The Balmorra (sp?) scene was incredibly bassy.

I'm backing up the DD tracks instead of the DTS tracks because the DTS size is twice what the DD size is.

I actually didn't listen to the DTS tracks. Do you guys think it would be worth it to take up some video quality to get the DTS tracks on rather than the DD tracks?

Example:
With DVD Shrink, I can get about 95% or the original video quality using the DD track, but I would get only 85% of the original quality with the DTS track.
When I used DD watching them before I was very impressed already. Do you guys think the DTS track would be worth it to give up a little visual quality? (watching on a 76" screen, so I'm not sure if the difference would show up... this is only the second day I've been doing this)

Ok, I've pretty much gathered that 😉, but do you think it would be worth sacrificing some video quality?

I'd love to watch the movies over to decide for myself, but I don't really have a whole night to waste hehe.

So far I've encoded DVD sized files for DD already. I haven't burned any discs yet though, so I can certainly change my mind on it and re-encode them all for DTS instead.

I love DTS, i had only just got my Altec 5.1s when she got the first EE, and that was mindblowingly cool 😉

But IMO, music dvds are far cooler in DTS, my Eagles "hell freezes over" dvd is my favourite and most watched/listened to DVD by a million miles, the surround is just done perfectly so it becomes 100% moee immersive than stereo 😀
