Yeah, I know basically where in the state you are now. At least you're off(near) I-10, so you're not completely in the middle of nowhere :p

Yeah, we've been on the -10 all day, at least being an interstate, it's divided. The drive from LV - Reno is on the US 95, so it's not divided :(

I seriously doubt that I'll have another interent connection until I get back to LV on saturday. My friend booked the hotel rooms and he picked the cheapest places along the way. This is a Days Inn, the others are Super 8's / Howard Johnson's -- not good internet prospectives. :(

How is it out there anyway? I've never been on 10 in that direction, just between SA and Houston.

Pretty empty, not bad, I don't know what the road is like to houston, but as with most western roads, it's primarily unlit void -- open desert/plain with a small town / gas station here and there. Much like central nevada except significantly greener. Plus the road is wider (not better paved, but divided)

Yeah....SA<->Houston is basically the same. Lots of nothingness. Somehow, there's a lot of that in Texas once you get out of the major cities. ;)

Oh, and I have pics, but I don't feel like cropping them w/ only a touchpad to aid me, so you will get them in one huge thread saturday.

Yeah, but then again, that's more or less the whole west, except california. I believe the statisic is that ~95% of the population of the west lives in cities.

That sounds about right. I read something too like ~60% of Texas' population lives within 60 miles of I-35 :Q (and it's probably only that low because I-35 doesn't go through Houston).

I'd be happy to. You have a good place to eat dinner tomorrow night? I think I can convince my friend and his brother to do this. They are the primary obstacle, as they are not ATers and they are traveling along.

They are aware of AT, but they aren't geeky enough to care. :(

I still hope we can have a NC meet down in Texas this summer at some point though. ;)

That's what I get for traveling with semi-anti-social people :(. In any case...how about a good place in SA for dinner -- perhaps mid-range ($ wise) BBQ? :D
