You're an idiot. There's no excuse to throw crap at a band that's performing despite what you may think of their music.
Nickelback's first album was great, I really liked that one. The second album was so-so. After that, they've just kept on going putting out the same sounding songs. They obviously don't blow and aren't "talentless" because they wouldn't be in the position they are in today if that were the truth.

if i were at a heavy metal festival and i was nickelback, i'd expect crap to be thrown at me... not because my music's god awful, trite, and ever so generic, but because i wouldn't belong at such a festival.
as for your views of them not being talentless just because of the "position they're in today," you've got to be kidding me. you honestly think that the bands/artists that are out are there because of their talent? you think ashlee simpson's talented? you think trapt has talent? you think milli vanilli had talent? give it a rest.... you like crappy music, and that's ok... just don't think that people who hate crappy music are idiots.

You've got to be pretty dumb to think that because someone has a band that you don't like that they are worthy of being physically abused. The fact that they have 4 albums tells me that they are liked enough to keep going.
They were paid to play there and they were doing their job. Please tell us where you work so some AT'er can come and pelt you with rocks while you put groceries in bags or whatever sort of job requires incompitent, thick headed work force.
I haven't said a damn thing about liking their music. This has NOTHING to do with liking their music and EVERYTHING to do with the fact that this audience hasn't made much headway since their cavemen ancestors and the fact that you think phsyical abuse is a valid form of showing dissatisfaction with entertainment.
If they didn't belong at the festival, then that's the event coordinator's and booking agent's fault. Again, nothing to do with the band.
The problem with you is that you are one of those people that think that if you don't listen to it, it's crappy music. You think that the world revloves around music and that music is all there is. You'll wake up someday. If for some reason I'm in the mood to listen to Ashlee Simpson, then dammit, I'll listen to ashlee simpson. It's all subjective. The fact that you think you know what is good music and what is bad music just shows your lack of comprehension of music. If you truly had taste in music, there would be no bad music, only music that doesn't suit your moods.
Maybe if you listen to music besides metal (which, from your posts, appears to be most of what you listen to.) You'll stop being pissed off all the time.

I saw a documentary on the history of punk music and the Sex Pistols played in some bar in Texas and were having empty beer bottles thrown at them. Johnny Rotten takes one right in his face spits blood at the crowd and keeps singing. That's freaking Rock-N-Roll.
I like several nickleback songs and most of everyone I know likes them. It really depends on a persons taste in music. But I generally don't like most ppl in life and for those that threw the rocks(and ppl laughing) are likely in the category of ppl I don't like and I wouldn't mind giving them a few adjustments.

guys, listen... i hate nickelback. because i hate them, i think it's funny that they get booed and have trash thrown at them. it's complete disrespect towards a band that i believe deserves the disrespect.

the garbage was flying on stage from all different directions... NO ONE liked them... the people whistled (which means "booooooo!" in european). they threw stuff from all over.
i'll say this for chad kroeger, though.... even though he's a no talent generic bastard, he handled it well. i wouldn't have put up with that shyt if i was him....

Also he couldn't have been hit in the back of the head with a rock, if you look close in the video while he is talking something hits the back of his head. It had to be a piece of paper because a rock that size would have knocked him slick out 😀.
