Birmingham News

Saban was supposed to have met with the Dolphin's owner this morning. ESPN News did a special at 10AM covering a supposed meeting. Saban and Huizenga never showed leading most to believe that Saban is on a plane to Tuscaloosa.

edit:
Interesting - word is getting out that Saban's plane will arrive in Tuscaloosa sometime around 3:30PM CST and Bama fans are being invited to come and greet him.

ESPN is supposed to have a press conference sometime around 4PM CST.

He'll be making a little less per year with Alabama but I believe it is supposed to be a longer contract.

According to all reports, it is not about money though...it is about Saban missing the college game.

I swear it's a competition... can we run through more coaches or more quarterbacks in a given period of time?

I don't know how a guy like that can talk about players being loyal to their team when he consistently bails on his team to take other jobs. He left Michigan State before their bowl game to take the LSU job. He bailed on LSU to goto Miami, now he bails on Miami after ridiculing reporters for asking such stupid questions about him even thinking about leaving. Seriously, the guy is an ass, and Alabama will be worse off for having him.

Would you say that LSU is better or worse off today after Saban's championship run there?

He'll cash out of Alabama in 5 years for 10-12 million. The guy has no history of the kind of long tenure that Alabama needs.

He didn't have the kind of recruiting pressure at LSU he'll have at Alabama. LSU gets their pick of Louisiana players...he won't have that luxury at UA.

You're right, he'll have Mississippi, Alabama, North Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee to recruit now.

Before Saban, Louisiana players were leaving the state and the program stunk for a number of years.
