as for the SEC, how do we know they're really better than the other conferences? it's not like they've had a bunch of non conference games this year (has each team played 2 yet?). and it's not like their bowl record last year was spectacular. other than florida blowing up ohio state after OSU's best player left on the first play of the game, what did the sec do?

i know , it will be fun if Tennessee goes on and plays lsu in the sec championship game, so much for les miles mocking pac-10 teams before this season, when the best team that one of the sec divisions could produce was beaten handily by the same pac-10 'juggernaut' cal (which is 6 or 7th in the pac-10 btw)

why will it be fun if that's the matchup in Atlanta?

what has the PAC-10 done this year? The entire big 12 is ahead of you guys

fight on! to the holiday bowl!

pac-10 does what it does every year, beat sec teams who claim to play in a better conference easily

auburn in 03,04, arkansas in 05,06, cal in 07,

Auburn was undefeated in '04.

or 02,03, you think it would have been any diff if SC player auburn instead of OK that year ,(probably wont have been 55-17) :p

Actually, yes. The amount of NFL quality talent on the field between SC and AU that year would have produced a damn fine MNC game.

auburn in 03,04, arkansas in 05,06, tenn in 07,

Auburn and Arkansas weren't top SEC teams in '02 or '03 (the years Auburn actually played USC) or '05. The Pac-10 does get credit for beating one of our divisional champs last year and (if UT wins Saturday) this year, though. But even at that they were/are the 4th or 5th highest ranked team from the SEC. So yay for the Pac-10.

I honestly think if every school paid their coaches a set amount for each win they get, these coaches would perform a whole lot better.

Man, if Saban thinks it's bad now...if/when we beat them a 6th straight time he and his family will have to enter into protective custody.

That said, I hope Texas A&M takes Tuberville off our hands. I think he's taken Auburn as far as he can. Ideally, I'd like Tuberville to take off to A&M and for Auburn to hire Brian Kelly.

Stay the hell away from Brian Kelly since everyone knows his next stop is Knoxville! ;)

there would be more matchups if sec teams scheduled teams other than the citadel's and ULM's of the world, but i guess after this year, even scheduling UL-monroe is out of question

Tennessee is a much different team than the beginning of the season. No one thought Cal would be any good anyway.
I think Georgia is the team that's really improved in the SEC. I'm not sold on TN at all, I think their D is terrible. They could easily lose to Ky and lose the SEC east to UGa.

I'd be pulling for TN if I was an LSU fan - I think LSU beats TN easily, but UGa could beat LSU.

Probably should have used a different analogy though.

Alabama losing to Louisiana-Monroe is WORSE then Michigan losing to Appalachian State. Sagarin rates Appalachian State as the 56th best college football team, while Louisiana-Monroe is the 104th best college football team. Based on the current ratings, Michigan is expected to beat Appalachian State by 10, and Alabama is supposed to beat Louisiana-Monroe by 15.

Just because a team is 1-AA, doesn't mean they are bad.

Neither upset makes Massey's list of 10 biggest upsets in college football, however.

Just wondering if you caught the beatdown UT applied to the dawgs this season? It wasn't even as close as the score showed.

Losing to a 2-loss I-AA team is not in the same ballpark as losing to ULM.

I dont know why Alabama offered Saban so much money. They want the next gen Bear Bryant, but go after a guy who cant sit still? My gut would tell me not to hire this guy. So many single season positions. hell, he's even left jobs before the season was over. He's like one of those guys you hire that immediately logs onto monster.com looking for something better. He's worked at a total of 10 College and 3 Pro teams.

1973-1974 - Kent State (GA)
1975-1976 - Kent State (Def. Asst.)
1977 - Syracuse (Def. Asst.)
1978-1979 - West Virginia (Def. Asst.)
1980-1981 - Ohio State (Def. Asst.)
1982 - Navy (Def. Asst.)
1983-1987 - Michigan State (DBs/DC)
1988-1989 - Houston Oilers (DBs)
1990 - Toledo
1991-1994 - Cleveland Browns (DC)
1995-1999 - Michigan State
2000-2004 - LSU
2005-2006 - Miami Dolphins
2007-present - Alabama

Yep. Also saw what happened when TN played Cal, bama and Florida. Teams that can pass give TN all kinds of problems... even Vandy. Also, like I said, I think Georgia is a lot better than they were, they've played their best games lately against good opponents. They beat Florida handily and ran right over Auburn.

I'd just like to add that the way both teams have been playing recently matters much more than games at the beginning of the season which can be largely irrelevant at this point in the season.

Paris and Nicole are making $ to be stupid. I doubt that they are making that much as Nick on their own merit or stupidity.

Nick is making $$ to be a coach. Like him or not, he is fairly good as a coach. While I agree that was just a game and he was wrong to compare that loss to 911 and Pearl Habor, I wouldn't say he was a moron. Unless you can do a better job at coaching...Oh, I forgot, this is ATOT afterall.

One more thing, coach can coach all he can, but it is still up to the players to make the plays and executions.
