The r6 is just under $12k cdn, and the r1 is only $500 or so more.... just over $12k cdn.

I'm looking at a 2000 r6 with xenon headlights, that akrapovic titanium exhaust, and flush turn signals with ~8200 km on it for around $8500 cdn...

Retail for a R1 is 10299 and for a R6 is 6999 (from yamaha's site)

Keep in mind when comparing specs that a busa and a r1 are apples and oranges. I can eat any bike alive with the exception of a zx-12r which is comparable to a busa. Between these bikes, the better rider will win. The R1 is more like a GSXR-1000. I am still faster, but in the corners or on a track, I will lose, because they are more agile. Frankly, I wouldnt want a Gixxer as my main ride, as I will sometimes go 400 to 600 miles in a day without suffering. Most R1 guys are ready to get off by the time we get to the good roads in NH (about 2 hours from where I live.) R6's are very, very flickable. Wonderful machines too.
