Could someone please explain DVI? Is that dual monitor outputs? Could I use two flat panel displays with this?

<< dvi is used for new lcd monitors >>

Thanks....So I couldn't use 2 monitors displaying different screen info with this card? Do you know of a good card to look at for this purpose?

Well my card arrived and I must say I'm very impressed. What a differince in quality of the graphics. Haven't done any benchmarking yet compared to my old Geforce DDR, but everything seems faster and more 'realistic'.

One disappointment is the card was not bundled with "Giants" as some have speculated. Newegg's photo showed that the game was included, but the description did not mention it. No big deal for me, just would of been a nice something extra.

Well worth the $159 😀

Johnny

I just got my card last night. Thanks guys!

I can't believe how much better this is than my old GeForce 256 DDR. I am getting much faster framerates with this in 32Bit mode than I did in 16Bit with my old card.

I OCed it to 225/500 from 175/400. I'll have to tinker again with it some more tonight.

Excuse my noobieness, but what did you use to o/c this?

I'm using the latest Detonator drivers and didn't see anything there about o/cing.

Thanks

Imagine what these cards will cost when Geforce 4's are announced.

Rumor has it Feb 5th. I think my Geforce 2 GTS can hold off until they hit the shelves.

did it come w/ a dvi connector? also, does it look like the picture pny shows r does it look identical to newegg's picture?

Yep, it came with the DVI connector, but no second CD (Giants game). Anybody else that ordered from newebb get the game with theirs?

Looks very similar to the pictured card. It has a lager heatsink that cover more of the circuitry on the back end of the board, otherwise the same.

<< BTW: Don't see how one can say the 2D quality of the PNY is any worse than any other ti200 board, from all indications and reviews this is the same reference board as the Visiontek 6564, Hercules Prohet III, etc. >>

Simply because they use the same layout does not mean they use the same quality components. If PNY uses a crap RAMDAC, for example, then their cards will have crappy 2d. However, I've heard many times that this only becomes visible when using higher resolutions, like 1600x1200 and up.

I have a question
if you go to www.pny.com there looks to be rebates for PNY cards for former voodoo owners.
You have to send them an older voodoo card...i have a voodoo1 in the closet.

The rebatesincludes geforce2mx pci agp, geforce2ti, aas well as geforce3ti500
has anyone tried for a rebate for this card?
I wonder if they would at least apply the geforce2ti $15

Looks like you have to buy the PNY card from one of the following retailers to qualify for the Voodoo trade-in rebate. I didn't check but maybe one of them has the card for a similar low price:

Participating Retailers
BrandsMart USA
Circuit City
CompUSA
Electronics Boutique
Fry's Electronics
Hastings
Insight
J&R
RCS
Staples
TigerDirect.com

PNY's Voodoo Rebate Page

😱 OOPS.. GuildBoss beat me to it as I was stuck on the phone

I posted the Voodoo trade-in link a month ago and no one bothered to check it out. 😕
Anyhoo, Newegg does not appear to be a participating PNY vendor for this deal. Here's the list of approved retailers if someone finds they have the card cheap:

BrandsMart USA
Circuit City
CompUSA
Electronics Boutique
Fry's Electronics
Hastings
Insight
J&R
RCS
Staples
TigerDirect.com

🙂

TO ALL:

I'm really itching to buy this card. Can anyone give me good reason not too? I currently run a Diamond V770 TNT2 Ultra I'm conreced about the 2d thing because I have a 21" monitor and my resolution is set to about 1280 x 1024, I don't want crappy 2d resolution Is there any reason I may have a problem with this card? Also my Main board is an Asus p3b-f and I'm running XP and I'm an Avid gamer

EDIT: Also what is the difference between ti200 and ti500??? anyone???

If you can hold off for a month or two for the GeForce4 to hit the shelves you'll probably be able to get this and other GF3 cards for much less. I'm holding off since my good ol' GeForce2 GTS is still doing a fine job with the newest games anyway... 🙂
