Take a look at the one of Baghdad, Iraq. Take a GOOD look, as it won't be looking like that for too much longer!!! :)

Great pictures. :)

One thing that is not really obvious is the elevation of the observation visitors area. The visitors parking area (very small) is that area to the right of the two "white" large buildings. Visitors have to walk from that parking lot up to the fork in the road and then left up the very, very steep grade to the visitor center. I had to stop and catch my breath.

A little bit of trivia.

The Arecibo Dish is located in a large sink hole.

:D

Cool. Hey SB, Is there a drain in the dish. I imagine that could catch quite a bit of water!

Heh - nice find. :)

Though it kinda reminded me of the joke I once heard:

Passenger: Stewardess, those people down there.. they look like ants.

Stewardess: Those are ants sir, we haven't started flying yet.

Thanks for the link. That may get me some brownie points at work :).

We do mapping and some of their image products may be useful for us.

When Dr. Jill Tarter, Carl Sagan, Dr. Anderson and I were walking around one afternoon I snapped this picture as we checked the tomato plants I had planted earlier in the year.

Just kidding :p Ha LOL

Not sure where I got that picture, it is just one that I have saved over the years. ;)

Are there really tomato plants? Still, looks like a cool place to visit. If I ever get to PR, I want to check it out.
