Perhaps, but with DDR3 on the horizon, I don't think the correction will be significant. If anything, the price should go lower well into next few weeks.

Not Sure how you figure $109.99 is better than $101.50 with the same rebate amount - even with the free shipping from Buy.com you save a couple of bucks at mWave and don't have to watch flashing lights on your ram. Unless flashing lights are your thing, go with mWave.

What about the Crucial. nobody seems to be saying anything about them. I thought they were suppose to be really good ram. Doessn't crucial use the micron chips in their high end ram

The DDR3 migration is not going so well... the first DDR3 designs have a large area penalty and are not any faster. Intel is still pushing DDR3 but may change its mind the way it did with Rambus.

Remember when DDR2 first came out? It wasn't faster than DDR1 in any way and then it had higher timings. DDR1 held the crown for a long while with it's tight timings and decent speed. It wasn't until the faster DDR2 modules came out did it became worth it to use DDR2 at the higher timings. So expect the same for DDR3. Wait a while for it to improve before jumping ship.

Even today, I don't believe there is a HUGE difference between DDR1 and DDR2 in terms of performance.

Good news is that it sounds like DDR2 prices will continue to drop according to a senior exec close to Samsung.

Screw DDR3......at least until Nehalem
