Mercata has a Sony minidisc player model number MZ-R37SP in their clearance section for $158.47. It's the lowest price i've seen for it.

You'd be much better off waiting for the new Sony MZ-R900s which can record up to 320 minutes of stereo on ONE normal 80 min. MD.

what is the price difference between the two of them? $200 plus tax? the r37 isnt very big, like your wallet, and about the same weight too. i suppose you dont have a wallet then... on the r900 how do you think they get 320 minutes on a md? they lower the quality... i hear that it isn't even as good as a fm radio at that level. although i here that the lp2 mode is pretty good...

$158 is an ok price, i got mine for $134 shipped from ubid. its a nice player/recorder for that price, not the smallest, not the greatest battery life, but what do you expect for that price?

I've sony R90 and sharp 831, they rock. I think sharp's MD is little bit better than sony's.

I don't know what you guys are talking about but this md player/recorder is fine. My friend has the first portable sony md player made and that wasn't even bad to use. I don't know why you guys are complaining about the size of this one.

I also like my Sharp 722. My only gripes are that it's a bit bulky in thickness (partly due to the loading mechanism) and that the jog-wheel may wear out too soon, as did the wheel on my Sony car CD deck.
