Great deal if rebate comes.

Link to PDF rebate file HERE

One catch: "Offer good on products purchased from Creative on-line store or an authorized and participating Creative Labs reseller ...."
Question: Is Dell an authorized and participating Creative Labs reseller? I guess not. Otherwise, they would have taken this advantage to list the rebate on their product page.

But it doesn't hurt to try. It's still an ok deal for $172.06 but I went with Archos Jukebox 6gb $169.99 plus tax.

edit:

Just found the page indicating who are CL resellers..........check it out HERE
You could call them at (800) 998-1000 9am-7pm M-Th and 9am-5pm F (central time) to find out.

Incidently, how did you get the Archos 6000 for $169? Even after discounts, I come up with $199 best price at Dell.

I got one from BB in sunnyvale.........there're still like 3 or 4 of them on the shelf. No rebate.....just simple $169.99 ring-up price.

Thanks for the info. I called Creative and they did verify that Dell is an authorized dealer. Ordered @ $172.06 delivered from Dell - $30 rebate that will work = $142.06 = nice deal!

I was thinking about going with the Creative deal, but I see the other posts about the Archos unit. To those that have them, are you happy with them? Also, although the picture makes it look huge, looking at the dimensions, it isn't too bad. Thinking about getting my son one for Christmas - not too bulky for a highschooler?

I'll take a CSR's verbal verification that Dell is an authorized dealer over a web page that probably has not been updated or is just listing major dealers. No matter anywho - they're out of stock.

You could i guess, but it is really big. Alot larger than a portable cd player. and it uses like 4 aa batteries so i imagine it would be pretty heavy.

I'm having a little problem. Mine's been delayed and my shipping date says "call CSR for ETA." Am I the only one getting this message? I hope I don't get screwed and not get time for a MIR.
