NIC Card properties

I was just wondering if its wise to set up specific configurations the NIC card properties applet in device manager. Stuff like half duplex, full duplex, bwords(?) etc. I have a autoswitching netgear switch and all Netgear 100 mbps nics (one autoswitching nic). The network is plenty fast, so I basically just want to know out of curiosity.

Thanks!

My network card goes slower when i switch it to 100baseT full duplex rather than auto. I say, keep to auto. By the way, i'm using a FA311.

Just play witht the settings and see how you like them. Generally I like to set it at auto b/c the settings might cause hangups, crashes, etc. I figure the nic is smart enought to determine if it can or can't do something (hence the name auto)

Using linksys 10/100 and netgear 310's.
