I think they are just covering their ass. I doubt they're going to come after you unless you catch their attention for another reason.

Good. It's another attempt to control the use of their services by terrorists...and as we all know, ALL pakistanians are terrorists.

I'm sure the other .0000000003453454% of PayPal users who are affected by this are equally outraged

OP, when was the last time that PP instituted a new policy that wasn't ridiculous?

Stop complaining about it and find another/better method of transferring funds. The best way to let PP know how you feel is to leave them and take your business elsewhere.

Oh! I misread your thread title. I thought it said "Rediculous New Papal Policy." Had me worried there for a minute.

Hell, I didn't know you were also Pakistani...I though you were Indian...you know...the other Pakistan...():)

If you've paid attention to the rantings of TGB over the years, you'd know...he seems to support terrorism.

While I find that Ebay/Paypal can have some pretty absurd rules, I don't really find this too troubling. It's PAKISTAN. You are right that they should @ least warn you not to send/recieve money from Pakistani IPs though...

Paypal just added a new clause to their ToS:

What a ridiculous policy. A lot of my friends who have accessed their account in Pakistan have had their accounts limited. I just sent a $6 donation to someone while logged in from a Pakistani IP and I'm awaiting the ban. Why couldn't they just block access to the site from those countries? What about frequent travelers? I know hundreds of Americans that travel to Pakistan frequently. How hard could it be to tell us: Paypal is not available in your country. Do they have a grudge against us or what?

Thankfully, I don't have any balance in my Paypal account. Will they take any money from my back account for this? I already had a bad experience with Ebay/Paypal in April when the forced me to pay for a disputed Ebay sale.

Great, hope they block all of africa and ex-communist countries in asia.

Apparently this has been their policy from 2009 but they are only starting to enforce it now. I hardly use Paypal and I've vowed never to use Ebay again but some online services only accept Paypal. Why don't more people accept Google Checkout?

I have a verified account with a verified address and a credit card. They're just going to ban me based on where I log in? WTH?

Wasn't Amazon or Google going to do some kind of payment service? Seems to me I recollect some such idea.

Alert Pay or Google Checkout? Both work here but they are not accepted everywhere. Paypal is so expensive, why does everyone still use it?
